- Sunday September 28, 2008Prince Nico Mbarga scored his first huge hit in 1976 with the song
‘Sweet Mother’, this album was originally released one year later,
in 1977. The copy we have here is a ‘Rounder’ re-release from 1982.
I quote a line from the backcover; “…if you don’t start dancing
five minutes into the first song, check your pulse to ascertain
 whether you’re still alive…”
This is African music with stunning guitarwork and great rhythm.tracks; 1 Free education in Nigeria

- Sunday September 14, 2008Being a blogger you keep learning things all the time.
Today we found out that very long titles sometimes frustrate
the process. I now understand why I was unable to rip this LP
before. It has all titles at the A-side glued together and at
the B-side, same story. So I wrote all titles in a row but
Winamp-Pro that I use to rip with, could also not handle this.
Now I found out what caused it I can finally post this LP.Here’s another great album of Juju music from Nigeria.

- Sunday August 17, 2008This here LP contains some classic Nigerian Highlife.
Quite hard to find material from Nigeria’s 70’s, I was
lucky many years ago. At first it seems they still have to
get warm but then it starts to run smooth after a while.
It’s the type of record that gets better the more you play it.

- Friday July 4, 2008From Nigeria here’s another fine piece of Juju, ‘King Sunny Ade’
is back with a smile. How do you like his new dresses ?
On the previous Sunny Ade rip I made the mistake to add skips
manually, I did not make that mistake again.
The first side of the album aswell as the second are like
one big track, I thaught I’d better leave it that way.tracks; 1 Osupa mi tole – Bi ko seni akii gbon – Ibi lero siwa – Ota ile pada lehin mi

- Saturday May 17, 2008From Nigeria we have here, King Sunny Adé and his African Beats,
this is Juju music, a laydback smooth type of African music with hummingtalkingdrums, steeley guitars and mellow voices. It’s incredible to hear
18 people play like ONE, beautiful. Ajoo was also released in a European
cut which is very different from this African release. One sidenote; The first
3 numbers are melted together as if they are one, it was very difficult to
cut it into 3 numbers, considering the fact I don’t understand a word they
sing here, I am SURE I cut them completely wrong, please forgive me.tracks; 1 Ajo ni mo re

- Monday May 5, 2008Well here we go. My first post on the world wide web.
When I was visiting one of the biggest recordfairs of Europe,
in Utrecht, I found this rare highlife LP from Nigeria. One of
my friends and I were looking for just anything by this artist,
so I was pleasantly surprised to find this album.
