Eddy’Son présente Tanawa
Eddy’Son Consortium Mondial
Some people have the strangest way of thinking the Global
Groove is some kind of jukebox. Sending me personal mail
telling me to post a wishlist of 10 albums in the next few
days, pffff, what do you think this is..? Fortunately most
of our visitors have the decency to wait and see what’s
coming instead of ordering music. Let’s see, do you
remember Eddy Son’s projects ? We had us a bunch
in the past. Tanawa is the singer with Master Mwana
on guitar and organised by Eddy’son Consortium
Mondial. A very solid listen not to miss..

Ikenga Super Stars of Africa
African Unity, Rogers All Stars
The last post of Nigerian highlife must have been in the month
of may this year. About time to continue that story, don’t you think ?
Let’s see, the group we have here is one we had on earlier occasions.
You’ll find about five other albums using our search-bar on the left.
Always satifactory sound if you’re into Nigerian music. Ikenga
on Rogers All Stars, probably from 1976, a must have..

Alberto Montiel y su Conjunto
Acordeon Herido, ifv 1981
The lp we have today has appearantly been property of Radio
Sincelejo. You can see how some enthousiastic worker changed
the frontsleeve, pitty but okay, it’s all about the music anyway.
The vallenato is from 1981 and you can hear it getting more
modern. Full bass and produced differently than in the earlier
seventies. The songs are strong however and the jumpy
basslines take you to the dancefloor automatically.
Listen to the wounded acordeon..
tracks;
01 – Acordeon herido
02 – Amparito
03 – La rabiosa
04 – El hombre que llora

Alejandro Duran
y su Conjunto – Mi Dolor

El Rey Negro Vallenato, or Alejandro Duran was one
of the most important figures if it comes to vallenato.
His sound is the most authentic you may find and the
lp we ripped for you today is a fine example of that
fact. It is from 1976 and on Victoria, a solid find by
our main contributor, thnx San. 12 great songs for
vallenato lovers. Get it & spread it as usual..

Roberto Ribeiro – Poeira Pura
EMI / Odeon 1977
It’s his third record here at the Global groove. Roberto Ribeiro’s
samba belong to the finest I know. It breaths a certain intelligence
I can’t explain. Subtle guitars, smooth rhythms and Roberto’s
great voice make this album one I would not want to miss.
If you are into this type of music you’ll certainly like it.

quente e bom demais..

Seigneur Ley Rochereau et l’Afrisa –
“En Amour y a Pas de Calcul”,
Genidia 1982
Lots of dynamics on this one. l’Afrisa has a strong electric
sound on this album, straight from the beginning it is very
full and rich in instrumentation. Strong vocal harmonies,
it does not tell us with who, round up this 1982 record.
Quite poppy but still very Congolese, listen..
tracks;
01 – En amour pas de calcul
02 – Mavwela
03 – Lisanga bambanda
04 – Masi mango
de Brazzaville a la Havane avec
Les Bantous de la Capitale
vol. 1, Socodi
Goodmorning groovers, it’s been some time since we’ve
seen them here. Les Bantous de la Capitale had quite some
albums passing by over the years. The one we have today
is a Congolese pressing on Socodi ( societé Congolaise du
Disque ) which we hadn’t seen so far. It contains some good
songs and some, let’s say, weepies. All together I think it’s
a historic document. With the participation of Nino Malapet,
Jean Serge Essous, Passy Mermans, Pamelo Moun’ka, Edo,
Samba Mascott, Celestin and Pandy, enjoy listening..
