One of Colombia’s most distinct voices belonged to this
great singer. Lucho Perez or Lucho Argain, also Luiz Perez
was especially famous for his lead vocals with La Sonora
Dinamita. But also solo he made lots of records. Today’s
entry does not have a year of release, but is a decent
contribution to his work here ..
Éen van Colombia’s meest herkenbare stemmen behoort
aan deze geweldige zanger. Lucho perez of Lucho Argain,
ookwel Luiz Perez was voornamelijk bekend door z’n lead
vokalen met La Sonora Dinamita. Maar ook solo maakte
hij tal van platen. Vandaag’s album heeft geen jaar van
uitgifte, maar vormt een degelijke
toevoeging aan zijn werk hier ..

Good morning groovers, sorry I’ve been absent for two weeks.
Have taken a trip by car to England, Wales and Ireland. The canal
tunnel is a great way to pass, in half an hour you’re on the other
side, car on a a train. It was wonderful, especially Irelands west
made a great impression on us. Rough landscapes.
What have we got for you today, a swell album from Zimbabwe.
Orchestra Dendera Kings ‘Marxist Brothers’ made astonishing
music, this one is from 1986, enjoy listening ..
Goeiemorgen groevers, het spijt me dat je twee weken niets
hebt venomen, we waren met de auto naar Engeland, Wales
en Ierland. De kanaaltunnel is geweldig om over te steken,
auto op de trein. In een half uurtje ben je aan de andere kant.
Het was prachtig, vooral West Ierland heeft een diepe indruk
achter gelaten, die ruige landschappen.
Wat hebben we voor je vandaag, een heerlijke plaat uit
Zimbabwe. Orchestra Dendera Kings ‘Marxist Brothers’
maakte zeer toffe muziek, deze is uit 1986.

lounge music, electronic mellow sounding, sometimes avant
gardistic, music. I tend to play that stuff again these days. Nice
memories of a era that moved. This French album was always
one of my favourites. Get it & spread it ..
Tijdens de jaren negentig luisterden we veel naar zogeaamde
lounge. Elektroniese lekker rustige, en soms ook freaky muziek.
Dezer dagen draai ik het soms weer met veel plezier. Herrinne-
ringen ophalend aan een periode die me dierbaar was. Deze

A couple of weeks ago my wife and I went for a weekend
to Middelburg, a great old city in the south of our little country.
Walking around I stumbled upon a music store, selling instruments,
but also records. I was surprised to find a whole lot of rare pop
vinyl and went through the crates digging for stuff that was missing
in my collection. Came home with quite a pile. This is one of the
purchases I did. Brian Eno with a psychedelic pop album. Discogs
says 1974, but its sleeve states 1973. Maybe something you don’t
expect to find here, give it a spin and see what you think ..
Mijn vrouw en ik waren enkele weken terug een weekend naar
Middelburg in ons waterige Zeeland. Rond wandelend vond ik een
muziekwinkel die niet alleen instrumenten verkoopt, maar ook platen.
Ik was blij verrast te zien dat er een enorme collectie oude vinyl werd
aangeboden en kwam met een aardig stapleltje albums thuis. Dit is
een van de aankopen die ik deed. Brian Eno met een psychedelische
elpee uit 1973. Discogs zegt ’74, maar ik volg de hoes van de plaat.
Misschien niet iets wat je hier verwacht, ik zou zeggen luister zelf ..

Hello, good morning. I’m happy to have another sweet slice
of benga for you today. Although its cover looks totally worn
out the vinyl is in pretty good shape for a 50 year old record.
Only track #1 has one pop, the rest plays fine. We find 4 songs
with the great Shirati Jazz and 4 with the Golden Ugenya Band.
Lovers of Kenyan music, don’t miss this one ..
Hallo, goeiemorgen. Ik ben blij je vandaag te kunnen verrassen
met een portie fijne benga. Hoewel de hoes flink is versleten is
het vinyl in behoorlijk goede staat, zeker voor een 50 jaar oude
plaat. Aleen nummer 1 heeft een kleine tik, de rest speelt mooi.
We vinden 4 nummers met het geweldige Shirati Jazz en 4 met
de Golden Ugenya band. Liefhebbers van Kenyaanse
muziek, mis deze niet ..

way is this one. It happened on more than one occasion when we
were still depending on Blogspot and various webhosters. Nowadays
we run on our own server and never loose any content. If you ever
discover another loss from the GG, please tell us and we can re-post.

wanted studio musicians during the 60′, 70’s and 80’s. He played
with many famous groups and artists. I’ll name; the Rolling Sto-
nes, the Beatles, the Who, the Kinks, Steve Miller, Jefferson
Airplane, Rod Stewart, George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul
McCartney, Ringo Starr, the Hollies, Cat Stevens, Carly Simon,
Harry Nilsson, Joe Walsh, Peter Frampton, Jerry Garcia, Jeff
Beck, Joe Cocker, Art Garfunkel, Quicksilver Messenger Service.
