You know, mostly when I tell you something about the LP that
I’m posting, I get the information from the internet. To be honest
I often don’t know sh*t about it. I am no specialist in any genre,
and just believe my own damn ears, that’s all. Let’s turn things
around for a while, I post the music and info from the album that I
just like and you provide us with decent background information.
How’s that for a change ? For instance, I only suggest that the
words written under the titles ( backsleeve, in capital ) are titles too.
They might aswell not be. Can you clear up this matter for starters ?tracks;

Hello Groovers, I have been too busy to keep up the normal pace but today I
finally found some time to post another LP. What do we have here ? From 1985
comes this fine album which contains two tracks sung by Josky Kiambukuta
and two by Ntesa Dalienst. No O.K. Jazz this time but a formation probably
just for this occasion. Another great piece of Congolese music to lighten up
your weekend. Mayika and Michelino show they know how to pull a string too.tracks;
1 Medecin de nuit ( Josky )
2 Ballon d’or ( Ntesa )
3 Saad ( Ntesa )
4 Kozanga… pasi eh ( Josky )Posted by Moosat 2:31 PMCategories

If we speak about calypso from Trinidad, I think the best material is
that from the late sixties. Quite hard to find are the albums on ‘Sounds
of the Caribbean’, such as this LP. The Duke of Iron is one of those
great artists from that era who really made a difference. Check them
naughty lyrics and you won’t be able to get that grin of your face all day.
Sorry, I’m secretly peeping into your room, hè hè.tracks;
1 Miss Constance
2 Monkey calypso
3 Under cover man
4 One gone
5 Rye saly water
6 Samson and Delilah
7 Wide screen
8 Tie up me dress

This Franco album from 1985 is a real classic. Most of you’ll
probably have it long time already, if you don’t, do not hesitate.
Mario was one of ‘Le Grand Maître’s’ biggest hits and should be
part of your Franco collection without any doubt. Just the thing
for your easy sunday afternoon, enjoy once more.tracks;

This is a re-post. I did this album at the very beginning of the GG
experience. Papaito and Roberto Torres are both great singers in
Son-Cubano. On this LP one presents the other but also participates,
Roberto Torres can be heard in the backing vocal section. This is the
type of Latin music I can’t seem to get around, sweet son…azucar..tracks;
1 Mi chiquita quiere
2 Caramelo a kilo
3 Que no muera el son
4 En mi triste agoníaPosted by Moosat 7:25 AM - Friday July 30, 2010
It is always a great feeling, searching for nice music on a record-fair,
and than finding a whole box full of rarities. This is what happened at
the last fair. A big pile of Pathé Marconi’s and Sonafric’s in top quality,
changed of owner that day. You lucky bastards have no idea how
I was driving home, I can hardly wait for the next fair.
Listen to this treasure by Max Massengo and realize, this is gold.

in 1973. Three vocalists who needed a new band while the band they left
was in need of new singers and recruited Théo Blaise Kounkou, Pambou
Tchico Tchicaya and Joseph ‘José’ Missamou.

In 1963, Paa Steel Kwame Ampadu started the eight piece African
Brothers Band. After scoring a huge hit with ‘Agyanka daberemu’
in 1966, they went professional in 1967. This is the group’s second
LP and must be from about 1973 when they counted 16 members.
Fantastic Ghana highlife from one of it’s main performers. The LP
also contains Pachanga, Cha cha cha and such, check it out.tracks;
