- Thursday November 20, 20088 comments on Fantastic Tchico – Golden Voice, Sonafric 1979
From ’79, our friend Tchico is back.
This is one of the three LP’s I’ve got with the same covers.
Maybe it was hard to get a photographer, either way, it’s a
record worth playing, listen!tracks;
1 Alexandra – Nwurai
2 l’Heure a sonne
3 Reviens ChouchouPosted by Moosat 10:53 PM - Wednesday November 19, 2008
Here’s another album by Pamelo Mounk’a, he used to be a singer with
Les Bantous de la Capitale. With two guitar greats, Master Mwana
Congo and Pablo Lubadika Porthos. Who knows the exact year on this
one ? Can you tell us ?tracks;
1 l’Argent apelle l’argent
2 Oyourou nyoumba
3 Amour de Nombakele
4 Ngaï mwana ya manaPosted by Moosat 11:26 PM - Wednesday November 12, 2008
One of the original members of the Zaiko Langa Langa family
was vocalist Bimi Ombale. He made this album with Carlyto,
Roxy and Nzaya Nzayadio. I do not know a year on this one,
if any one can fill us in here ?tracks;
1 Trop de problemes
2 Muana – Nyoka
3 Sambela – Tozala
4 Mowunbu ya bolingoPosted by Moosat 8:37 PM - Sunday November 9, 2008
Orchestre Zaiko Langa Langa was founded by Kinshasa students
in 1969. The name was constructed from ‘Zaire ya Bakoko’,
( Zaire of our ancestors ), Langa Langa is the name of the
people in the Equator region. The group grew fast and existed
of some 20 persons that kept changing along the way. A few names,
Papa Wemba, Evoloko Jocker, Nyoka Longo and Bozi Boziana were
some of the early members of the group. They blended Rumba with
Rock in the 70’s of which this LP is a fine example.
( info from ‘World Music, the Rough Guide’ )tracks;
1 Elo 1 & 2
2 Liposa 1 & 2
3 Vie ya mosolo
4 Ando 1 & 2
5 Chouchouna 1 & 2
6 C’est la veritéPosted by Moosat 12:06 PM - Friday November 7, 2008
Before I found this album by Mayaula Mayoni, I had never heard of
him. When searching on the internet I can’t seem to find much
more then a discography. I also found out he used to sing with
Franco at a certain point. Youtube has a few films. What I do know
is that I liked this LP from the first time I heard it.
Sung with ‘Malage de Lugendo’ this is great Congolese music.tracks;
1 Fiona – Fiona
2 l’Infimière
3 Amour, maladie d’amourPosted by Moosat 8:42 PMCategories

It’s been a while since we had an album by one of Africa’s
finest female singers, M’Bilia Bel. Although it’s got a few
scratches, it’s still worth a spin. Like on most occasions
M’Bilia is accompanied by Seigneur Tabu Ley Rochereau and
l’Orchestre Afrisa International. What a woman, what a voice.tracks;
1 Faux pas
2 Bafosami
3 Nazali mwasi
4 Motema ekoponaPosted by Moosat 10:21 PM - Sunday November 2, 2008
If I say ‘Bopol’, ‘Féfé Diambouana’, ‘Master Mwana Congo’,
Eddy’Son and Théo Blaise, what can go wrong ?
With this early 80’s album it’s a sure score, my favourite
track ? # 4, ‘Chérie Sylla’ !tracks;
1 Célia
2 Louzingou
3 Bintou
4 Chérie SyllaPosted by Moosat 11:03 PM - Sunday November 2, 2008
Another Rochereau, this one is from 1973 and that shows.
It seems Tabu Ley is the inventor of the Afro-hairdo, no serieus
he was kind of hip those days, that shirt too. He even recorded
his version of ‘Let it be’ ( Beatles ), not for me that is.
Although it’s quite different from the original and sung in his
own language, I prefer Rochereau’s own songs.
Part from that this is a great album, check it out yourself.tracks;
1 Afrisa l’International
2 Leki ya mongali… tosuki wapi ?
3 Tete nakozonga
4 Marie-Lou
5 Nakwei carreau
6 Dialogue
7 Lal a biy
8 Sebene – 182
9 Libala to cinema
10 Mofuku na libengaPosted by Moosat 11:19 AM - Friday October 31, 2008
Rochereau in his young years, what a nice photo is this.
And what a fresh young voice on this LP, can any one tell us
of what year it is ? It’s got 10 songs and takes only 30 minutes,
not a vey common thing. By the way, I made a mistake when I ripped
‘Afrisa International’, some time ago, I switched A and B sides.
Yesterday I re-ripped it and put a new link on that post.
If you have downloaded it, better do it again and delete the
old file. Now listen to Rochereau Tabu Ley’s ‘Belle Epoque’.tracks;
1 Sawa ayaka mozemba
2 Fiesta na Milano
3 N’daya paradis
4 Nin’zi
5 Nadie no puede
6 Mi amor
7 Mwana ya Tabu
8 mukala
9 L’age et l’amour
10 Lucie
11 African Jazz lipopo
12 Ma kulutuPosted by Moosat 10:08 PMCategories

I had this LP waiting and promised some time now, Pt. 1 was posted
some weeks ago. It contains music from different countrys, in
different styles and was a hot item, back in the 80’s.
As far as I’m concerned, it still is.
Sorry it took so long Mona, cheers !tracks;
