Have you ever fallen in love with a voice without knowing who it
belongs to ? That is what I have with the lady that sings on this here
record. When in 1993 the cd Cumbia Cumbia 2 was released I got
completely captured by track two. It is called ‘Soledad’ and was
played by ‘Combo Los Galleros’. Today I think I discovered who
was singing. I strongly suspect Lucy Gonzalez who does vocals
on this elpee. I’ll add Soledad so you can shine your light on it
and compare. What a great voice she has, I’m sold..Ben je weleens verliefd geworden op een stem waarvan
Wat een heerlijke stem heeft dat mens..ik ben om..tracks ;

Romulo Caicedo’s muziek was me al jaren geleden opgevallen
tweede tegenkom. Luister naar Romulo’s
Merengue Sabroso..Romulo Caicedo’s music came to me years ago and pleased me
instantly. It took a while before the first encounter with a fysical
album but now it’s there. His quite high voice intrigues and his
sound is mainly happy. A sunny meeting all together that asks
for a follow up. Let’s see how long it takes for us to find the
second elpee. Listen to Romulo’s Merengue Sabroso..titels ;
01 – Dime por que
02 – Por la carretera
03 – Contestame morenita
04 – Al compas de las polleras
05 – Sin decirme adios

10 – Bailando el cumbion
11 – Aguanta corazoncito

To start with, I’m so sorry for those who fancy one kind of music
only, for variety is the spice of life and change is everything
to keep us alive. It is inevitable.
I always took this band very serious, so many great artists played in it.
Lisandro meza, Calixto Ochoa, Tony Zuñiga, Eliseo Herrera, César Castro,
just to name a few. And then they appear with such a strange song with
Donald Duck voices in it. That was a moment of doubt, but then, what to
say, the rest of the album is just as fantastic as before so I guess we’ll
excuse them for making a joke. They remain a group of world class.
Listen yourself, los Corraleros de majagual are still marvelous..titels ;
01 – Pompo del pilon
02 – El garrapatero
03 – Tengo tengo
04 – Los tres indiecitos
05 – Nuevo tumbao

Write his name in our search-bar and find the one album
by his hand we already had. Today’s lp is one in various styles,
from cumbia to cumbión, guaracha, pasaje and such. It bursts
of percussional beats on pots and pans, no just joking but the
tambó is very hot on this album and one song is happier than
the other. I can’t seem to get enough of this sound, how
’bout you ? If anyone should know a year of release,
please do not hesitate and leave us a message.
Meantime give it a spin and enjoy..tracks;

Good morning groovers, I wasn’t able to see downloadnumbers exactly
as they are since the new page has come active. My engineers have
made it possible now and I must say it brought me some pleasant
surprises. For example, I did not expect Ases del Ritmo in our top 10,
same thing counts for Global Sampler vol. 43. It is on number 14, not
bad at all. The numbers give me an awesome insight on what’s most
popular here at the GG. I always figured that the albums that gained
the most comments were also the most downloaded ones but that
isn’t the case at all. This information is very valuable to me, it
helps me determine what to post.So lovers of Colombian music,
I am happy to see so many downloads in this section.
Enjoy this fine collector which contains
a number of great songs.tracks;

Here’s a post, especially interesting for it’s collector’s value, more then
for it’s musical value. ‘Los Millonarios’ played instrumental versions of
well known songs. For instance, ‘No me busques’ of ‘Los Corraleros
de Majagual’, or ‘El carretera’ of ‘Guillermo Portabales’. It gives an
impression of all the styles played in Colombian music. And as always,
‘Discos Fuentes’ brings a cover with a pretty girl. Check back cover
for style info. Attention : Track no. 1 jumps one time !tracks;
