Almost one year ago that we had us a Global Sampler. It was volume 73
so right about time to make another. We are far behind in sampling
posts from the past. This sampler covers a load of posts from
around july 2018. Guess I’ll make some more to catch up
a little. In the far past I used to take a track of every
album posted. Nowadays I stick to songs that
don’t last too long, keep up the variety.
One way or the other, if you like
something, use our search-bar
to find the album it was
taken from.
juli 2018. Ik denk dat ik er nog een stel maak om wat
in te lopen. Vroeger nam ik een nummer van elke
geposte plaat, tegenwoordig neem ik de wat
kortere nummers om de variatie te
waarborgen. Hoe dan ook, als je
iets mooi vindt, gebruik je de
zoekbalk om de plaat te
vinden waar het
vanaf komt ..01 – Orchestre Lipua Lipua – Tika kosaboter motema
02 – Combo Los Galleros – El hijo de menejo
03 – Roberto Ribeiro – Favela
04 – Tapper Zukie – Tapper roots
05 – Sugar Minott – Ghetto-ology

It was in may 2014 I made this compilation especially for the GG.
I just discovered it has mysteriously disappeared however. Why
and how ? .. you tell me, I have no idea. The compilation contains
6 of my favourite 12″ singles from the eighties, six singles with
tracks I used to play a lot in those days. Over the years more of
my precious posts have vanished strangely, if you remember
one that is gone too, please remind me so I can Re-Post it.
A pure coincidence I find out on a sunday by the way.
Also pure coincidental is the presence of track # 13,
Nothing to do with the fact that
tomorrow is Blue Monday,
morgen blue monday is,
beter is # 6 ..01 – Malcolm McLaren – Soweto
02 – Malcolm McLaren – Zulu’s on a Timebomb
03 – Malcolm McLaren – D’ya like scratchin’
04 – Frank Zappa – I don’t wanna get drafted
05 – Frank Zappa – Ancient armaments
06 – The The – Perfect
07 – The The – The nature of virtue, version 2
08 – John Cale – Chicken shit
09 – John Cale – Memphis
10 – John Cale – Hedda Gabbler
11 – Dept.S – I want
12 – Dept.S – Monte Carlo or bust
13 – Dept.S – Put all the crosses in the right boxes
14 – Mark Stewart & Mafia – Jerusalem, High ideals + Crazy dreams
15 – Mark Stewart & Mafia – Liberty CityPosted by Moosat 1:53 PMCategories

Singles from Panama’ ..Yesterday promised, today I grasped the nettle. It was a bit
of a job, I had to start over three times cuz I blew the recording,
but that’s my own stupid fault. Let’s see what it became ..After going through some single boxes the choice was made.
I went for these seven singles from Panama. Panamenian cumbia
is so fanciful and quite different from the Colombian variant.
Some of the tracks were written by Colombian composers though,
‘Cabellos Largos’ en ‘Mariposita’ are by Alfredo Gutierrez and ‘La
Danza Española’ by Gildardo Montoya. Do not sit down to listen
but dance across the room for once with these
