This could be one of those bands from Ghana who
operated from Nigeria. On Rogers All Stars we find
this 1980 LP by ‘Canadoes Super Stars Band of Ghana’.
The bass player on this album immediately caught my
attention, amazing rhythms and voices to complete the beat.
Highlife Haven once gave us a song, today we’ve got us
a RAS recording from the year 1980, love it or leave it.tracks;

Last thursday’s post on Okukuseku Int. Band of Ghana
found quite a few happy ears. Another Ghanaian group
that operated from Nigeria is this one. This LP was pro-
duced by Jomo Records from Aba, Lagos, Nigeria. It might
be the first appearance on the web for this band, I didn’t
find anything about them. If you did, please show us.tracks;
1 Love your neighbour
2 Afua nyama saman pa
3 Odo nto

I always liked the word, ‘highlife’. While exploring the genre
this feeling only increased. The more I get to know, the
more I get to like it. Take this LP by Ali Chukwumah, I
knew one album untill I found this one. Holy guacamole,
while recording it I could hardly stay on my chair. Rockin’
Nigerian beat that keeps you up and going..tracks;
1 Club 25
2 Henrietta
3 Onye melu ogo amazi
4 Ezi okwu bu nduPosted by Moosat 8:34 PMCategories

Third LP by this artist at this page. As usual I can’t
really tell you anything useful about him. I am not even
sure if I like the message he is bringing. The only thing
I am absolutely sure of is what my ears tell me. And that
is something good ! Whether it’s is Ghanaian or Nigerian,
I don’t know and I don’t care, it is a real treat !tracks;
1 Nyame nnae
2 Any trouble
3 Nyame kyir bone
4 Suffer suffer
5 Mo nhwe me

I received a request for more City Boys Band. This one has
a life behind him, it’s a bit crackly but still. Finding albums
like this is getting harder all the time so we must take it as
it is. I do not experience it as disturbing and we don’t have any
audio-fanatics here. In short, enjoy this old slice of vinyl…tracks;
1 Ankwanobi
2 Agyanka mmobro
3 Medi anwomawuo
( medley )Posted by Moosat 8:31 PM - Sunday November 20, 2011
The African Brothers had a song with the same title,
‘Owuo aye me bi’. If it’s written by them or by the great
Alex Konadu, I do not know. One way or the other, nice
song. I am very happy to be able to present you another
LP by this wonderful Ghanaian artist, listen to Alex Konadu.lead vocal – Alex Konadu ( One man thousand )
vocals – Collins Marfo, Barfo Kyei
lead guitar – Collins Marfo
guitar – Elder Osei Bonsu
bass guitar – Maringe
organ – Kwadwo Akwaboa Junior

Want another LP of Nigerian highlife ? Oliver de Coque
is not the world’s greatest singer but his music has
a groove I absolutely dig. That much said, it would
deserve at least a couple of spins, two Mp3’s
of a tiny 20 minutes each, give it a go..tracks;
1 Atutu gepu mpi ekwe gesiya ike
– Chukwu ekwena kifififele meayi
2 Klub nationale

Don’t you agree Pele Asampete is wearing a beautiful outfit ?
I’m always a bit jealous, if this white ass would wear it I’d look
like a jerk. On Rogers All Stars comes this RAS LPS 043, a
nice work of Nigerian highlife. No familiar names if it comes
to personel, take a look at the backsleeve which is in the file.
I think this LP is from 1983, giving the date on the front cover’s
little sticker of Sud Radio. It can’t be younger, that much is clear.
The music on this album really makes me happy for it’s clear
and rocky sound, however I must take distance from any
religeous messages on this one. Lucky are we who do not
understand a word of what he is singing,..enjoy..tracks;
1 Ezi o goli
2 God only knows
3 Umn igbo
