eerder hadden. Uit 1975 op African Songs Limited hebben
we the Wizard Guitarist Emperor Pick Peters and his
Seidormatic System, derde volume, check hem nu..Some 30 years ago I only knew King Sunny Adé and Chief
Ebenezer Obey if we speak about juju music. Meanwhile we

we’ve got the Wizard Guitarist Emperor Pick Peters and his

After a short break we are back today with a fine piece of
juju. Lately I’ve been listening a lot to this stuff and part from
the hidden message, which we do not understand anyway,
the sound remains delightful. From 1978 and on Jet Sound,
this is a record we had before, in other words a re-post but
in a different sleeve than the one we posted in 2014.titels ;

– Atakoro wo nu ado

Juju lovers opgelet ! Hier is prince Thony Adex, de Master Juju
Guitarist volume twee.
Here is Prince Thony Adex, the Master Juju
Guitarist volume two. With his Band Sedico System he brings us

between talking drums, sweeping broom sounds, subtle
guitars and Thony’s voice are of hypnotic class and beauty.

kon laten staan. luister en huiver..Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey made such a pile of albums,
we’re only getting started with the fourteen we had so far. The
one we have today is from 1972 and is in perfect condition for
its 44 years of age. It begins with a hallelujah which almost
made me decide not to post it but the music is too good to
be neclected. Enjoy listening to Ebenezer Obey..titels ;

– Ajala-alhaja
– Alhaji babs.

– Laide oropo

deel uit van de prima ritme sectie..warm weer muziek..Already quite some time ago we saw him here. Dele Abiodun and
his adawa sound, a type of juju from Nigeria. It starts out a bit
sloppy but when the band warms up a little later they really
are getting up steam. Give this a try, nice talking drums
are part of the swell rhythm section.

Luister naar Gbedu Beats..One of the nicer aspects in collecting African music is the fact
one keeps walking into artists we never seen or heard before.
This record brings us such an artist. Uncle Toye Ajagun does
juju and is from the Joruba corner. Started out in 1962 he made
two albums untill 1975 that did not score too well and finally
reached the big public with his third record called “Magbe Magbe’.
After 38 years this record from 1978 is in perfect condition
which is exceptional. Listen to Gbedu Beats..titels ;
01 – Erin ko gbigbe
– Chief adeniyi idowu
– Haaji r. o. sanusi
– Iyemoja
02 – Mo ti foro mi l’oluwa lowo
– Haaji m. a. lawal

Some time ago we had volume two, today it’s volume one’s turn.
I.K. Dairo is the man who’s juju is now called Ashiko music, after
it’s old and original name. Playing guitar, talking drum and acor-
deon and singing in various languages he is the group’s main
man. After a firm cleaning the vinyl sounds as good as
new so get it & spread like you’re used to.tracks;

02 – Eko nile ayo
03 – Se ni ma bimo lemo

It does have a couple of pops and some scratches,
somewhere over the years it has lost a corner of it’s sleeve.
This album by the great I.K. Dairo has made a journey before
ending up with us. Baba Aladura was his nickname, the very
popular I.K. Dairo played guitar, acordeon and talking drum.
He called his juju ‘ashiko music’ like it used to be called in the
past. This is volume two to begin with, I’ll post the first volume
some time later. Enjoy listening to I.K. Dairo & his Blue Spots
and don’t forget to find the other seven I.K. Dairo lp’s..tracks;

03 – Omo owa ijesha

As we say in the Netherlands, promise causes guilt. It means
I am in debt to one of our visitors who I promised to post this
record. I kept it on the shelf because it contains jesus titles.
I am a anti religious person, I take distance from any religious
message and support the music as it is, very nice juju. I truly
love the sound but hate the fact that juju artists act like
priests sometimes. So Tony, enjoy this album, the music
is great. If anyone is looking for more King Sunny
Adé, just fill in his name and search,
top left, there are 22 other titles..tracks;
1 Ka jo mu jo
– Mo bebe fori
– Jeki ntegbe
– Baba ma doju timi
2 Jesu o seun
– Mo dupe
– Bona gbogbo badi
