We have seen various albums with the great Aniceto Molina.
This is the first on which he appears with Los Tiburones. I’m
not sure if Pepe Molina and Anastacio Molina are brothers
of Aniceto. Together with Alfredo Varela the three form
Los Tiburones. This fine record contains cumbia, porro,
guacón, tiquita, pompo, chandé, paseo, paseaíto, gaita
and joropo. A variety of styles unique for Colombian
music.

It is a little crackly, but then again, it is some 56 years old.
This album with Los Teen Agers comes from 1965. The
group was founded in 1957 and was the first Colombian
band to mix Bolero and cumbia with twist and rock ‘n’ roll.
they changed the line up several times in their career that
lasted until the late seventies. They recorded 50 7″ singles
and 17 lp’s.

is onduidelijk. Diverse fijne Tropical

P.S. La Pollera Colorá en

He was the father of Willie Salcedo who does have his own
Wikipedia page. Pedro’s compositions were played
by many Colombian artists. Strangely little is to be
found about him on the web. The famous song
‘La Pollera Colorá’ was maybe his greatest
composition. It is not clear from what
year this album is, it contains various

An album posted in may 2015 caused some download
problems then. It should be working now but the files
were not organised like we do today and I decided to
do a Re-Post on them. This is one of the cd’s I found in
Johnny Chirino’s store in Amsterdam after Discos
Fuentes told me about it. Guitarist Pedro Jairo Garces,
found its tragical death in 1972, only 30 years of age.
He was the leader of this happy sounding band. Los
Golden Boys mixed traditional music like gaita, porro
and cumbia with twist and rock & roll.
ik vond in Johnny Chirino’s zaak nadat Discos Fuentes me
over hem vertelde. Gitarist Pedro Jairo Garces overleed
ongelukkigerwijs in december 1972, slechts 30 jaar oud.

An obscure and wonderful slice of Colombian candy today.
Gustavo Rey brings us some crazy dancing tunes from the
old days. Not exactly clear from what year they are, the
variety of songs on this record is exciting. What do

Anibal Velasquez is a Colombian composer and musician with
a career that spans over sixty years. He was the hit of Colombia’s
50’s and 60’s. The album we’ve got for you today is from 1970, 50
years of age and still very hot. Anibal was hospitalized last year
with a severe lung infection, let’s hope he’s doing better
today. Listen and enjoy Anibal’s tremenda salsa ..El Rey del Acordeon Colombiano 1977

On this album with Los Curramberos de Guayabal we find
singers Adolfo Echeverria, Alberto Pacheco and Anibal Velas-
quez. Gabriel Romero also used to take part in this group
but not on this record. The singers all had extensive solo
careers later. We find Anibal Velasquez singing El Bobo
de la Yuca, by Beny Moré. Other famous songs are
Rosa Maria, La Luna y el Mar, Cumbia del Caribe
and La Banda esta Borracha. I have added a
couple of different versions as a bonus ..Op deze plaat met Los Curramberos de Guayabal vinden we
zangers Adolfo Echeverria, Alberto Pacheco en Anibal Velas-

Good morning groovers, yesterday a certain commenter
told me to stop posting music from cd and go back to
bringing stuff from rare old elpees. Okay, no problem
if you wish to criticize my work. However, if you do this
anonymous, I shall not publish it. Let’s
see, what do we have today ..If you want something rare, this is rare.
I can’t seem to find them anywhere on the web.Over the years we saw several albums with Los Corraleros
de Majagual. They were very famous. Today we find this
record with Los Carraleros de Bogotá. Some of the songs
were written by Efrain González of whom we found some
records before. Other songs were written by Julio Sanjuan
and José Barros. We have an elpee with Pedro Quinto
which also contains songs written by these three. I’m
not sure if any of them took part of Los Corraleros
de Bogotá. If anybody does, please share
your knowledge ..Efrain González y sus Muchachos, Parranda Costeña

That ‘Los Corraleros de Majagual’ album of yesterday alone
was already downloaded hundreds of times. I guess it is time
to catch up with some of their older records. I’ve got a bunch
of them waiting, let’s see ..
This one is from 1967 and contains some of their greatest
songs ever. A few of them have appeared here on earlier
occasions but we also find songs that we didn’t have yet.
Tropical de Colombia like Paseaíto, Pompo, Pasaje,
Charanga, Son and Bolero, enjoy listening ..In 1977 the album was re-released. On this re-issue two
songs were replaced.
were replaced by ‘Sarita’ and ‘La minifalda’. I have added Sarita
as bonustrack. ( see other picture, also in the file)With Eliseo Herrera, Lisandro Mesa, Julio Erazo,
