Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe (March 1936 – May 11, 2007),
often referred to as just Osadebe, was an Igbo Nigerian highlife
musician from Atani. His career spanned over 40 years, and he
is one of the best known Igbo highlife musicians. His best-known
hit was the 1984 single “Osondi Owendi” (Igbo: One man’s meat
is another man’s poison.), which established him as a leader in
the highlife genre and was one of Nigeria’s most popular records
ever. ( Wikipedia )tracks ;

gisteren is opgenomen.
Gerrit, Henk, deze is voor jullie ..In 1984 I didn’t have the slightest knowledge of the existence
of this music. Shanachie Records however was wide awake and
launched this sparkling registration by Akanni Animashaun and
his Apala Group. The album is in mint condition and sounds fresh
like it was recorded yesterday. One to put in a golden frame ..tracks ;

Zoals veel artiesten is Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey
Vandaag zingt Ebenezer Obey ‘No place be like my country
Nigeria’.
volledig in het teken van de Nigeriaanse muziek ..Like many other artists, Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey
just loves his country of origin. On earlier occasions we have
heard for instance Ramito, he is crazy about his Puerto Rico.
Also Irma Vila with the song ‘Como México no hay dos’. Today
Ebenezer Obey sings ‘No place be like my country Nigeria’. To
be honest I think we all join in that sentiment. One way or the
other, this week is all about the music of Nigeria ..tracks ;
01 – No place belike my country nigeria
—–I remember the sunshine, rainfall and forest
—–Land of blessing ‘nigeria’

Record Store Day.
volgende maand. Hier alvast een voorproefje dus ..His name is White but to my opinion he sounds more black than
white. This record was pulled from the cupboard to be played at
Record Store Day in april to come as well. Tony Joe White made
timeless music which will be listened to till the far future for sure.

I was listening some old soul records to play in my buddy’s record store
on Record Store Day in april to come when I stumbled on this one.
What a huge impact it had after such a long time not playing it.
Bobby Bland’s ‘The Soul of The Man’ is a killer without a filler ..
originally released in 1966.“Once in a lifetime an artist is able to emote…to project the power
and beauty…to share the innermost depth and passion of himself
…with a listener. Rarely is the occasion opportune for such powerfully
communicative communion, amd even rarer is the miracle that it could
be captured on a record. …”
stuitte.
Bobby Bland’s ‘The Soul of The Man, wat
een killer .. Oorspronkelijk uitgebracht in 1966.tracks ;

11 – PlaygirlPosted by Moosat 1:59 PM - Monday March 4, 2019

Moyo en Thomas Mapfumo tegen komen. Editions Zim Productie,
