monument van Vondel vanaf een uur of drie. Tropische klanken

Het was in oktober 2011 dat ik Rochereau à l’Olympia heb geplaatst.
Het viel me toen al op dat de zogenaamde live elpee in feite een studio
opname betrof waar later publiek gejoel en applaus tussen was gemixed.
Een deel van de nummers die op deze plaat stonden komen eigenlijk
van de epee die we vandaag hebben. Hij is opgenomen in Parijs in
december 1970. In 1971 heeft ‘african’ de gemixte versie uitgebracht.
Op dit origineel zijn de nummers in kortere versies uitgefaded en op
de andere zijn wat echo-effecten gebruikt om het live gevoel te faken.

It was in october 2011 when I posted Rochereau à l’Olympia . It was
already quite clear from that moment that something was wrong and
that the so called live album was in fact a studio recording on which
they had mixed live audience sound in a later stage. The record we
have today contains a bunch of tracks used to make this one .
Today’s album was recorded in Paris in 1970 and ‘african’
produced the other in 1971. On this original the numbers
have been faded into shorter versions where on the faked
live version echo-effects were used to give it a live-feel..

Ja dat is wel een beetje jammer, hij kraakt van het begin tot
het eind. Toch is dit een plaatje, zo zeldzaam dat je hem niet
zult willen missen. Je komt ze niet erg vaak tegen dus twijfel
maar niet. E.T. Mensah & the Tempos Band met deze schijf
uit 1975 zal je collectie weer een beetje mooier maken..

It is a shame , yes that’s true, it’s noisy from beginning till
end. Still, this is a record you wouldn’t want to miss, so rare.
We do not find them a lot so better don’t hesitate. E.T. Men-
sah & the Tempos Band will make your collection a little
more complete with this tremendous disc from 1975..

Vier groten der valenato op een verzamelaar vandaag. Op
Abel Antonio Villa na hebben we van deze jongens diverse
albums gezien. Wel een paar nummers op de Cumbia ver-
zamel elpees van zijn hand. De twaalf tracks van vandaag
zijn zorgvuldig geselecteerd door het Mas Musica label en
maken de liefhebbers van dit genre vast zeer blij, plezier..

Four greats in vallenato on one collector today. Part from
Abel Antonio Villa they all had at least a couple of albums
here so far. We did have a few tracks by his hand on some
of the cumbia collectors we had. The twelve songs of today
were carefully selected by the Mas Musica label and will
surely please the lovers of this genre, enjoy listening..

Juju lovers opgelet ! Hier is prince Thony Adex, de Master Juju
Guitarist volume twee. Met zijn Band Sedico System brengt hij
ons deze Juju Funk Explosie die er niet om liegt. De dialoog
tussen de talking drums, vegende bezem geluiden, subtiele
gitaartjes en Thony’s stem is van hypnotiserende klasse.
Ik zou dit zeker niet missen als ik jou was..

vandaag maar het betreft hier een heel andere. Dat was EVVI 11
en dit is EVVI 63, ik weet niet uit welk jaar. Verckys brengt nummers
van zichzelf maar ook van Mantuika, Bonyeme en Kiambukuta.

On december 19, 2011 I posted this here album.
Its frontcover looks almost similar with today’s record but it is
a complete different one. That was EVVI 11 and this is EVVI 63
I don’t know from what year. Verckys brings us songs by himself
but also by Mantuika, Bonyeme and Kiambukuta, enjoy..

De zwarte chinees is terug, hij was hier reeds op zeven eerdere
gelegenheden. Dit is de achtste maal dat hij ons bezoekt dus.
Dit plaatje was opgenomen in Nigeria zoals de titel reeds deed
vermoeden. J.A. Adofo is de grote leider van de City Boys, één
van de meest populaire Ghanese highlife bands op deze pagina.
De hoes en het label zijn het niet eens over a-kant en b-kant,
ik ben uitgegaan van het label..

The black chinese is back, he visited us on seven earlier occasions
so this is encounter number eight. J.A. Adofo is the great leader
of the City Boys, one of the most popular Ghanaian highlife bands
here at the global Groove. As the title already suggests this one
was recorded in Nigeria, volume two. Cover and label do not
agree on which is a-side and which b-side, I believe the label.
If it’s the other way around, someone let me know..

Anibal Velásquez’ albums worden altijd met gejuich ontvangen.
Op deze plaat staan wel enkele nummers die we al op ‘Lo Ultimo’
hebben gezien maar dat mag de pret niet drukken. De andere
liedjes zijn nog niet eerder verschenen op deze pagina. Geen
idee hoeveel er zijn van zijn hand maar we krijgen er geen
genoeg van. Luister weer met plezier..

Anibal Velásquez’ albums always find a happy listener. On this
one we find a couple of tracks we’ve already seen at ‘Lo Ultimo’
but that may not spoil the fun. The other numbers are here
first time. No idea how many he made but we can’t have
them enough. Listen with pleasure..

Hij heeft er velen gemaakt. Chief Stephen osita Osadebe’s albums
blijven opduiken en telkens weer een die je nog niet eerder hebt
gezien. Zo vond ik er op de afgelopen beurs in Utrecht maarliefst
drie waarvan hier de eerste. Altijd even sfeervol en subtiel zijn
zijn produkties. Dit plaatje begint zeer langzaam maar is zoals
verwacht uitendelijk weer een klein meesterwerkje. Lekkerr..

He made dozens of them. Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe’s albums
keep appearing and every time it’s one you haven’t seen before.
On the latest fair in Utrecht I found three of them of which today
the first one. Always as atmospheric and subtle as the previous
of his productions. This record begins slow but turns out to be
another of his little masterpieces, nice..
