- Tuesday December 22, 20151 comment on Thelma – The Haunting New Voice from Brasil
To make you remember the great Zecalouro and his Loronix.
He was the man that inspired me some 9 years ago with
his wonderful site. After visiting Zeca in Leme, Rio de Janeiro,
february 2007, I decided to begin my own musicblog and look
where we are today..Let’s see..This is another Thelma, it has a few doubles with the previous
one, however there are enough differences to bring it. Bossa
for whoever likes it, enjoy listening again..

Tomorrow we’ll already live the shortest day of the year in
this part of the world. Winter begins officially but we’ll gain
a couple of minutes of light every day again and that’s very
nice. Also very nice is today’s post, Rochereau à Abidjan Vol. III
gets its turn and that completes the three volumes. I think
these albums sound just fantastic with yet another song
by Kiesse Diambu, one by Diasi Kadi and two by the late
and great Pascal Tabu Ley himself. Get it & spread it..tracks;
01 – Tanga tanga

of release, if anybody knows please tell us too.

Just before I launched my tribute to Loronix in november 2011
I spoke to Zecalouro by mail. He told me I could use any record
from the good old Loronix I wished. Now here’s one I played so
much. Thelma had a skill of singing in a way, she kind of pulls
back the sound of the Bossa by stretching the tones as no other I
ever heard. Really astonishing cool Brazillian mood stuff.
Just get it, play it and agree, wonderful Loronix music.
Thank you for showing the way Zeca, pure gold..tracks;

On Mini Records we find Althiery Dorival and his Ensemble
Le Progrès. Since I heard him first time I got intrigued by his
dark yet sparkling sound. Reason the more why we’re very
lucky we found more of his great music. Thank you Rémy
for bringing this compas to our attention. We had one of
his records on an earlier occasion. Find it using our seach
option on your left hand side. ( write as altiery dorival )

Presented by the great Luambu Makiadi Franco, this is Kiesse Diambu.
We had not seen him before here at the Global Groove but we’re as
happy as possible to have him. ( After your refreshing comments I rewrote
this, we hear Empire Bakuba and not OK Jazz. ) I love the sound on this album.
