David Tochino Biniakounou started his career very young in l'Orchestre Super Tembessa. We had one of their albums some time ago. After that he made a round performing with African Negro, Cercul Jazz, Mack, Kimba, Negro Band, ATC-Music and l'Ensemble Musical de 8 février. He was an allround artist, playing guitar and drums, being a[...]

It took a while, but here's another Théo Blaise. After hearing him again with Sam Mangwana this week, I thought it was his time. Chef d'orchestre and solo guitar by Master Mwana Congo, all songs written, arranged and mixed by Théo Blaise himself. What can I say ? Just listen. tracks; 1 Nadia Soleil 2[...]

On Eddy'Son Consortium Mondial, the release stream must have been endless during the 80's. I keep finding records there, such as this one by Pamelo Mounk'a. Again recorded with guys like Master Mwana and Pablo Lubadika Porthos and ofcourse Eddy Gustave played his part. Enjoy this Congolese music from 1982. Great stuff. tracks; 1 Ce[...]

I went on a recordhunt last week and found me some great things. This is Théo Blaise Kounkou, untill last week I didn't notice that I already had several LP's with him singing background vocals. When I read the information on the cover and saw names like; Master Mwana, Bopol and Eddy'son, I knew this[...]

When I see a record on Eddy'Son's label I am immediately alert. So when I saw this one passing, what can I say ? Master Mwana and Syran on guitar, Theo Blaise backing vocals. It was not a real gamble. David 'Fefe' Diambouana comes in with an album I liked from the first tones. People,[...]

I think I have been a little over-productive this weekend, but that's okay. I had a good time ripping all these old LP's again. I use to transfer them to CD first, using a Sony CD Recorder. A pure audio device, not linked to PC or what so ever. Then I rip that 'mother-CD' at[...]

Do you know that moment of recognition, when you let your fingers run through a pile of LP's and then you see it, Okay, Yes ... My first african single was " Madeleina " by Pablo and lately I found myself this original, great moment. By the way, Master Mwana is also joining the session.[...]

On Disques Vogue, probably from the sixties, we find this CMDINT 9577. It is the very last one listed at their Discogs discography without year of release. Ry-Co comes from Rythmes Congolais and was initiated in 1958. Based in Martinique from 1966 to about 1971. Their records are kind of hard to come by. Radio[...]

Op Afric'music vonden we deze plaat met Les Tontons. Enkele bekende namen zoals Domingo Salsero en Master Mwana Congo maken deel uit van de formatie. Ergens uit de jaren tachtig, een precies jaar is niet voor handen. Prima kwaliteit vinyl.. On Afric'music we find this album with Les Tontons. Some well known musicians here, Domingo[...]
