If you ask me ?
This is one of the best albums ever !
I am sure all senior blackmusic lovers already have this LP.

From Congo ( Zaire in those days ) this is Nyboma, who shared his
membership of the African All Stars with Sam Mangwana.
Before that, he participated in groups like ‘Les Kamalés’,
‘L’Orchestre National du Zaire’ and ‘L’Orchestre Lipua Lipua’.
Unfortunately, track 1 and 3 have some ticks, still, a beauty.tracks;

Horace Swaby is his real name but we know him as ‘Augustus Pablo’.
He is the one that made a real grown-up instrument out of the ‘Melodica’.
Before him it was seen by many, being just a children’s toy, but if you
hear what Augustus shakes out of it, it changes your mind. Read the full
back cover story and find out more ! Click on image to enlarge.I don’t
know how many times I played this record, back in the 80’s, but it must
have been a thousand times, to me this is a classic. It is a collector
of ‘Augustus Pablo’s’ work in the seventies. A Killer !

COLOMBIA SPECIAL
Today’s special about Colombia would not be the same without this
rare album. Pacho Galán was one of the biggest composers of Porro,
Fandango and the inventor of ‘Merecumbé’. Colombian music would
also not have been the same without Pacho Galán.
‘Ay Cosita Linda’ was maybe his biggest hit and the birth of Merecumbé.
He himself was born on october the 4th in Soledad, Atlántico,and
wanted to be a musician since he was a child. Went to conservatoire
and was a professional musician at the age of 15.
The titlesong of this LP was also a great succes in those days.
Stay tuned…tracks;
1 Caracoleando
2 Juan de la Cruz

4 Lindo San Marcos
5 Carameleo
6 Bombo y Maracas
7 Rosa blanca

Do Not Mistake !
COLOMBIA SPECIALThe cover of this LP is just awful !
If you see an album in your secondhand store with a cover like this,
you skip it, but look out.
La Sonora Dinamita is a fantastic band.
This LP starts out with a commercial hit but then it gets more
interesting in my opinion. It’s not a carreeralbum, they’re hard
to find in Europe but it’s a collector that contains some great
songs. ‘Cumbias de Oro’ is it’s title although some tracks have
a certain salsa flavour over them.
All together, a great spin in a cheap coat.tracks;
1 A mover la colita
2 Del monton
3 Mi son monteadentro
4 Bongo bongo
5 Murio en su ley
6 Chango
7 Mirala como va
8 Te pille pilla
9 Coquetona
10 Cosas que suceden
11 Jibarita encantadoraPosted by Moosat 1:58 PMCategories
