Allright folks, it’s final. There is no way to retrieve the posts
from between january 26 and may 30. There was a bug in the
host’s software that caused the loss. Sh*t happens. Not to
worry though, I’ll re-post the lot in the next weeks. The music
is still there. You thought you could catch up listening now,

y su Combo with Carlos Arturo. Mixing cumbia, salsa, porro
and paseaíto, these guys make you dance across the room
in no time. So kick aside your furniture and let’s go ..

Dear visitors,
I am still witing for answers. My engineer tells me
we should not start posting yet. host/server people
should come with answers first. My hands are itching
to start re-posting and continue but if I do and the
past four months should be retrieved, things will get
confusing. So, hang on, be patient,

What do we have here today ?
Those who were awake last week will remember a post
with another great band from Etsakor. Osaije Dance Band
of Iuleha led by Festus Natoso Edukpe is here once more
with this 1984 album. Sweet and mellow highlife in the
mood so many of you appreciate. One way or the other,
you will find former posted record soon again. For now,
enjoy this one and please let me know, does everything
work as usual ? .. to be continued, stay tuned ..

Label and sleeve do not agree on what is side one and

Can anyone tell us what the term ‘Ikwo-Kiri-Kwo’ stands for ?
We found it on an album with Winam Jazz Band and it is found
on Kawere Boys in London for instance. Today we find it again.
There are three groups performing on this record as you can see.
The always great D.O.7 Shirati Jazz gets four tracks, Victoria Jazz
and Kawere Boys each two. Sweet benga music from Kenya which
always find a happy listening ear, get it and spread it ..

Wie kan ons vertellen waar de term ‘Ikwo-Kiri-Kwo’ voor staat ?
We vonden het reeds op een plaat met de Winam Jazz Band en
het staat op Kawere Boys in London. Vandaag vinden we het op
deze plaat. Drie goepen zijn vertegenwoordigd hier, het gewel-
dige D.O.7 Shirati Jazz krijgt vier nummers, Victoria Jazz en de
Kawere Boys ieder twee. Altijd fijne benga uit Kenya vind
keer op keer een blije luisteraar, down en deel weer ..

Ook al krijg ik alleen van Juanito en Antonio altijd reacties op de
vallenato posts, ik kan het niet laten deze muziek te blijven bren-
gen. Ik heb werkelijk geen idee waarom zo weinig mensen dit spul
waarderen, zelf ben ik er dol op. Vandaag een verzamelaar uit 1973
met een rijtje van de meest gewaardeerde artiesten in het veld. We
vinden naast de grote namen ook enkele minder bekende zoals Is-
mael Rudas en Anaximenes Mario. Tevens zowel vader als zoon Pacho
en Pachito Rada met hun Conjunto’s. pracht verzameling vallenato’s
die ik iedereen aanraadt eens te beluisteren ..

Eventhough we only receive reactions by Juanito and Antonio when
posting vallenato, I can’t leave to keep bringing this type of music. No
idea why so little people appreciate this stuff, I am crazy about it myself.
Today we have this collector from 1973 with a bunch of the most respec-
ted artists in the field. Next to the big names we also find a few lesser
known artists such as Ismael Rudas en Anaximenes Mario. We also find
both father and son Pacho and Pachito Rada and their Conjunto’s.
Wonderful collection of vallenato’s I recommend
everybody to listen to ..

That Captain beefheart must have been shocking for most of our
visitors. I understand. Let’s get back to the stuff you’re used to find
here. Etsakor highlife is also not the easiest but certainly the finest.
Mrs. Waziri and her velvet voice, the kids on the frontsleeve seem
to feel the importance of the picture sitting on the hood of their new
mercedes. They look so serious, she must have said, do not move those
hinies, one small scratch and you’ll be sorry .. The album does also not
have one scratch, a rarity ..

Die Captain Beefheart moet een schok zijn geweest voor veel van onze
bezoekers. Ik begrijp het. Laten we maar terugkeren naar de muziek die
je hier wat meer gewend bent te vinden. Etsakor highlife is wellicht ook
niet de makkelijkste sound, wel de fijnste. Mrs. Waziri is hier met haar
fluwelen stem. De kinderen op de voorkant van de plaat zien blijkelijk
de ernst wel van de foto met hen op de motorkap van hun nieuwe
Mercedes. Zoo serrieus kijken ze erbij. Zij moet gezegd hebben,
hou die billetjes muisstil, één krasje en je zult het bezuren ..
De plaat heeft overigens ook geen enkel krasje,
een zeldzaamheid ..
