Okay okay, anonymous visitors cry out for more 4 Stars. So here’s another
one for you. Again we have no year on this album, if you know ?
The pictures on this LP’s cover are made in the Paris Rex Club.
I visited the Rex Club once around 1981, it was in the Rue des Bonnes
Nouvelles I remember. Hey Paris people, does that club still exist
at all ? I would love to go back to that specific night, just my 3
friends and me in an all African crowd. They had Mr. and Mrs. elections,
lots of African dancemusic, we had a great time.tracks;

Accompanied by Deyesse on Sax, Domingo Salsero on Drums, the great voices
of Asi Kapela and Théo Blaise Kounkou, Syran Mbenza on Guitar,
this is Bopol Mansiamina with the sweet Maillot Jaune. It was recorded
in Paris, do you think the ‘Tour de France’ was going on same time ?
Or did they bike their way to the studio ?tracks;

Dear visitor, if you are living somewhere near my hometown,
this party might be an option to fill your fridaynight next week.
I shall be playing an African Dance Party on friday 28 of August.
Hilversum is the Netherland’s Radio & TV town and Hilversum On-Air
is a yearly event. On several stages in the centre, live performances
take place for three nights. 28, 29 and 30 of august this year.
I shall be deejaying in a local bar, no big stage but behind an open
window, with an improvised dancefloor outside. Let’s hope the weather
will be good. The party will take place at Café ‘t Wapen van Hilversum,
Groest 27, 1211 CZ, Hilversum. It is in the middle
of the centre of my little town, very easy to find.
You can expect Soukous, Highlife, Chimurenga, Zulu Jive, Juju, Mbalax,
Rumba and other dance music from the dark continent. Put on some colourfull
clothes, your dancing shoes and join us on this exeptional event, see you there.Posted by Moosat 9:46 AM - Saturday August 22, 2009
King Sunny Adé is back with an ’82 album. I had an anonymous request for
more juju music. It’s true, I did not post any juju for quite some time.
I am getting more and more obsessed with Congolese music lately.
This does not mean I don’t like juju anymore but you know how these
things work, I’m just following my heart. Today this KSA LP found
it’s way to you and I’ve got some others waiting for their turn.
If time is limited, prioriy’s must be taken, just hang on.tracks;

Highlife music was originated in Ghana and to me, Ghana Highlife
like this is still one of the best. We’ve seen one of their albums before
at the GG. This one has a cover almost completely worn out but
the music still sounds great. it’s perfect for a mellow sunday afternoon.tracks;

Good evening Groovers, I am happy to announce the GG is back online.
And to celebrate our homecoming, a special treat to to y’all. The
l’Afrique Danse series always gets a lot of response. I found another
one in my dusty vaults. It has exactly the same title as a previous
posted album so I added the serialnumber this time. Take a zip of
this nostalgic refreshment and feel at home, cheers folks.tracks;

Warrior is back with his Oriental Brothers International.
Only two tracks with little over 36 minutes but they are no waste
of time. With some synths added, at moments this LP sounds
inbetween Highlife and Juju, a combination that doesn’t hurt at all.tracks;

2 Ndi aduduPosted by Moosat 6:50 PM
