- Wednesday April 7, 20104 comments on Oriental Brothers International Band – Ihe Eji Aku Eme,Afrodisia 1984
Oriental Brothers albums always find their way to lovers
of Nigerian highlife. A band widely appreciated, that is led
by the brothers Opara. Sometimes by Warrior but this time
by his brother Dan-Satch. Both of them delivered great LP’s
and scored loads of hits during the seventies and eighties.
Sometimes separate and sometimes together, enjoy this 1984
LP of the Oriental Brothers International Band.tracks;

2010, the year of another World Championship of football, or
soccer if you prefer. This time the greatest tournament will take
place in South Africa. The whole continent and in particular South
Africa of course, shall benefit of all the extra attention an event
like this harvests. A good opportunity also to promote African
music worldwide, all eyes and ears shall be wide opened. Today’s
post concerns a group from Lesotho, a country completely surrounded
by South Africa that gained independence in 1966. In Globe Style’s series
‘Accordeons that shook the world’, this LP by Puseletso Seema & Tau ea
Linare. The singer Puseletso Seema and the group Tau ea Linare normally
work separate but made this LP for the occasion, a collaboration worthwhile
I’d say. Originally released in 1981, this is the 1985 re-release on Globe Style.

To spoil you a bit more, I’m in a good mood today, this
dynamite Franco album, it’s one of his very best. Le Grand Maître
and his Stars in Nairobi rock like seldom before on this Edipop
Production. For the ultimate spring feeling of this first of april.
Volume up and dance around the place, pay attention to
that bass, let it rule your hips and let go.., enjoy.tracks;

From the very first notes, the fast rolling subtle drums and the
more than funky guitars it becomes cristal clear ! This is one hell
of a juju record. Ever since the release of his hit album Eyi Yato
Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey followed this new way and focussed
on a younger public. Recorded in the Afrodisia Studio’s in Lagos,
this 1984 LP on the London Stern’s label stands out for it’s freshness.
A real treat for juju lovers that will surely rock Miami tonight.tracks;
