eentje aan toe. Het Conjunto van Luiz Morais zorgt voor de kalme
instrumentatie en Bana voor de vokalen. Heerlijk mellow spul
voor de zomeravonden. Luister en geniet van
‘Nha Terra Cabo-Verde’..

We had us only one record from the Cape Verdian Islands so far,

deze fout goed te maken hebben we een andere elpee van de
broeders die zeker niet eerder verscheen op deze pagina. Hij
heeft wat ruis op de achtergrond maar is zeer de moeite
van het beluisteren waard, check hem zelf..

Hello groovers, I received a message of our buddy Goon, telling
me the last African Brothers lp was posted under a different name
in an earlier stage. Read the comments for further explanation. To
make up for this mistake, today an album which wasn’t here before.
It has a little hiss in the background but makes a solid listen

Hij kraakt een beetje, desalniettemin is dit een plaatje om
erbij te hebben. Voor de liefhebbers van vallenato tenminste.
We zagen hem nog niet eerder, Pascual Banquez , ik kan je er
dan ook niets zinnigs over vertellen behalve dat zijn vallenato’s
bij mij zeer in de smaak vallen. Probeer het zelf eens..
p.s. de hoes is dusdanig beschadigd dat ik hem
ietsiepietsie heb gerepareerd.

It has some noise, nevertheless this is a record to save in your
collection, if you are a lover of the genre that is. We haven’t
seen him before, Pascual Banquez, so it’s obvious I can’t tell
you a whole lot useful about him except for the fact his vallenato
is very much to my liking. Why don’t you give him a try..
p.s. the sleeve is damaged so much, I took the liberty
of fixing it a tiny little bit.

highlife rammelt zo lekker door, veel trommeltjes, ruwe vokalen
en verrassende geluidjes, ik hou ervan..en jij..?

Connecting with the Oriental brothers, Continental Brothers,
Kabaka etc. we’ve got an album by the Lucky Brothers today.
Nigerian highlife rocks on and on with lots of percussion, raw
vocals and surprising little sounds, I love it..and you..?

Zeldzaam spul speciaal voor jou opgenomen en hier gebracht.
de hoes geeft aan drie nummers op kant 1 te hebben maar
ik vond er slechts twee, hoe dan ook, pak hem,
speel hem af en heb er plezier van..

This lp by the famous African Brothers band is quite special.
it is one of the few albums made in Nigeria, rare stuff ripped
especially for you and posted here tonight. The sleeve claims
it has three songs on the a-side, I only found two. One way or
the other, get it, play it and enjoy doing so..

Na de tragische dood van Aboubacar Demba Camara in een
onnodig auto ongeluk was Bembeya Jazz aanvankelijk verlamd.
Deze elpee echter markeert de sterke come back van de groep.
Met Moussa Touré als nieuwe leadzanger, Mory Koyate I, Mory
Kouyate II en M’Bady Soumah was het grootste leed geleden en
maakten ze weer prachtige muziek. Luister naar ‘le retour
de Bembeya’ en beslis zelf of het waar is..

After the tragic death of Aboubacar Demba Camara in an
unnecessary carcrash Bembeya Jazz was initially parralised.
This lp however marks the strong comeback of the group.

nummers die ik nog vaak zal draaien, luister zelf..

From 1973 we’ve got this lp by Victor Salamanca. It is the first
encounter with this singer who appears here with twelve quite
solid songs. Varying from Cumbión to Puya, Paseo, Achantaíto,

Hij was al een paar keer eerder van de partij hier op de globel groef
maar dit is weer een pareltje hoor. Gewoon lèkker om naar te luisteren
als je even de wereld uit wilt zetten. Ook al versta ik er geen hout van,
deze muziek maakt me simpelweg blij. En dat is iets wat we wel kunnen
gebruiken in een tijd als deze waarin de wereld wel uit elkaar lijkt te
donderen. Misschien zelfs wel omdát ik er niets van versta..

He was around here at the global groove on a couple of earlier occasions
and the one we have today is another little pearl. Just delightful to listen
to if you want to turn the world off for a moment. Eventhough I do not
understand a word of it, the music simply makes me happy. And that
is something we can really use in a time like this in which our world
seems to be falling apart. Maybe it is becáuse I don’t understand..

We hadden er al vier, zeven Congolese singles en hun b-kanten die
samen een nieuw album vormen. Hier is dan volume 5 met twee
singles op Pathé en vijf op het african label. Ondertussen wordt
dit ook al een aardige serie, diverse ‘seven 7″ from Ghana en ook
from Kenya en Colombia. Gebruik de zoekbalk en vind ze allemaal.

en als je van een dansje houdt kun je echt er niet omheen.
Het is dan ook altijd een feest weer een van zijn platen te
vinden. Afgelopen week in Amsterdam vond ik deze. Zeer
lekker stukje jit uit Zibabwe, luister en huiver..

Jonah Moyo & Devera Ngwena’s sound is so sparkling and
hot, if you like to dance there’s no way around it. Always
a wonderful moment to find another of his records so
when I found this one in Amsterdam last week it made
me very happy. Get it and spread it..
