Is that a sweet voice or what ? Choc Stars are here with
Carlito, Roxy Tsimpaka, Defao..after posting the dusty
African Fiesta album I wanted to make up with one
that sounds clean and fresh. Four great songs that start
with ‘Premier Amour’, not my first love but it’s a jewel.
Listen and agree, sweeet stuff..tracks;
01 – Premier amour
02 – Meditation
03 – Celio
04 – Na ndimi na niokuamaPosted by Moosat 6:24 PMCategories

An obscure slice of vinyl here today. We had quite some
records with Docteur Nico and African Fiesta. This one
however on Music Star contains some known and some
lesser known tracks. The album’s sleeve does not give one
letter of info so we’d have to guess about the vocal parts
and such. I’m sure Rochereau is there on a couple of songs
but have no idea about the others. Maybe one of you can
enlighten us and give some additional information.
Meantime listen to this somewhat dusty disc..tracks;
01 – Paquita
02 – Eso querida
03 – Connaissance
04 – Mangui
05 – Bougie ya motema
06 – Quiere mida
07 – Cashita
08 – JerkPosted by Moosat 8:05 AM - Sunday June 28, 2015
One of Franco’s better albums was waiting long time to find
it’s way to you. Other blogs have posted it already but it can’t
remain absent here. Some say it’s from 1984 others say 1985
one way or the other it is a joy listening to it. So finally we’ve
got Franco et le T.P.O.K. Jazz a l’Ancienne Belgique with on
guitar, Franco, Gerry Dialungana, Gégé Mangaya and Mpuidi
Deca. Vocals, Madilu System and Josky Kiambukuta..tracks;
01 – K.S.K.
02 – Nda ya
03 – Pesa position na yo
04 – MukunguPosted by Moosat 8:09 AM - Sunday June 21, 2015
Another group coming forth from Zaïko Langa-Langa is this one.
La Zaïkomania made this album in 1989. Recorded in Verckys’
24 track studio in Kinshasa, it sounds fresh as if recorded only
yesterday. Zangilu Popolipo’s guitar and the young voices of
Bebe and marius make this lp a true joy to listen to. Better get
it and give it a couple of spins, I’m quite sure you’ll agree..tracks;
01 – Olasi
02 – Wadeni
03 – Lutonzol
04 – PajoraPosted by Moosat 8:00 AM - Thursday June 18, 2015
I don’t know how many line-ups they knew, Zaïko Langa-Langa
is a group that changed so many times I’ve lost track. Today’s
album shows one I didn’t see before, with Bimi, Dindo, Lengos
and Ilo Pablo. I am particularly fond of the voice with that nice
vibrato at the end of the phrase, don’t know exactly who is
responsible for it, but I love it. One way or the other,
this is a swell record you won’t regret downloading..tracks;
01 – Carte d’amour
02 – Kanga monoko
03 – Na boyi ngambo
04 – Na leli tropPosted by Moosat 7:19 AMCategories

Today’s post concerns an album of which we had the first volume
already. Somehow I can’t seem to find it back however, it looks like
another post that has disappeared over the years, very strange. No
worries about it because off course we’ve got it stored safely here
at the home of the Global Groove. So, here are volumes one and
two of Langa-Langa Stars on Editions VéVé International. They
belong to the finest of Congolese records in our collection,
get them and spread them as usual..tracks vol. 1;
01 – Avenir mbeya mbeya
02 – Tantine betena
03 – Autopsie beloti
04 – Mase femme africainetracks vol. 2;
01 – Requiem
02 – Parfum na ngai
03 – Ata pneu ya reserve nandimi
04 – Gloria mangasaPosted by Moosat 10:59 AMCategories

Completing series is a goal we all have when collecting music.
Take this series of Les Grands Succes des Editions Vévé, we
had volumes 1,2,5,6,7,8 and 9. You can imagine how it feels
to finally find volume 4. Volume 3 is still on my wishlist but
I’m sure one fine day I’ll walk into that missing volume as well.
There is a whole lot of albums yet to be discovered, the search
never ends in that perspective. Verckys is an artist of which we
can never find enough music but it gets harder to find all the
time. The record we’ve got today contains three tracks by
Orchestre Lipua-Lipua and one by Orchestre Kiam,
from 1978 and a real treasure, listen..tracks;
01 – Orchestre Lipua-Lipua – Distingue
02 – Orchestre Lipua-Lipua – Nasepelisa nzoto
03 – Orchestre Lipua-Lipua – Zela mobali nayo mpo otuna
04 – Orchestre Kiam – MbalePosted by Moosat 8:25 AMCategories

Always a thrilling experience when walking into an album
like this one. The Pathé Marconi EMI recordings selected
by Fayette Blaise Mikano in the seventies are often very
promising. Take this lp by Orchestre Les Noirs, none of
the members of this group have familiar sounding
names. Not to me that is. They travelled through
Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania for some years
with huge succes. Founded in 1966 in the
Republic of Zaïre. This one is from 1975,
get it and spread it..P.S.
Track #3 at the end and track #4 at
the beginning sound a bit shrill, it is in
the recording though, we
must take it like it is..tracks;
01 – Bafola 1
02 – Mai ya tongo
03 – S.G.A.
04 – Longoli 1
05 – Masamuna
06 – Diedo miya
07 – Mokulu mbembe 1
08 – Mokulu mbembe 2
09 – MasundaPosted by Moosat 8:33 PM - Wednesday May 20, 2015
Les Bantous are here, we had some of their albums
in the past. I can’t seem to find a year of release but
it’s probably from early eighties. One way or the other
this is a very nice lp, look at that line-up, swell stuff..tracks;
01 – Osala n’gaï nini ?
02 – Bilanda-landa mabé
03 – Querida paola
04 – DegePosted by Moosat 7:50 AM - Thursday April 30, 2015
Good morning, it’s been some time since we’ve seen
him pass by, le Grand Maître however keeps coming
back every once in a while. This 1980 lp on VISA is
one we didn’t have yet. The album sounds fairly good
it has one small pop in track one but that’s it. Another
sweet piece of Franco’s huge legacy, enjoy it..
p.s. I’ve got some software problems so
I could not rescale to cd sized front.tracks;
01 – Peuch del sol
02 – Na bali misere
03 – Mbawu na ko recuperer yo
04 – Bolingo ya moitie moitiePosted by Moosat 7:49 AM
