Syran Mbenza gathered a bunch of great musicians to
realize this project, take a look at it. This must be the
line-up you were waiting for, am I right Apurva ? This one
is for you buddy. Oh..and yes of course, you folks can take it
aswell. Let’s all move our lazy buds around
on this wonderful sound..tracks;
1 Youyou
2 Mon ami
3 Molatisi
4 Icha
5 Kabibi
6 BiloulaPosted by Moosat 7:33 PM - Thursday April 28, 2011
I know we have a lot of Pépé Kallé fans in our little
Groovers community. Today’s post concerns an album
from 1985 by the man with his buddy’s Papy Tex and Dilu.
Greetings from Ma Ngoundi at Brazzaville, enjoy..tracks;
1 Trop, cést trop
2 Na koboya ye te
3 Drame
4 Mille baisersPosted by Moosat 7:32 PM - Thursday April 14, 2011
l’Orchestre Tao-Tao was formed in 1973 at the Campus
de l’Université d’Amiens. The initiative of a group of students
from 7 African Countries; Congo, Zaïre, Centrafrique,
Gabon, Bénin, Guinée and Cameroun. This 1980 album
contains a couple of great songs. I particularly like
the use of organ on this LP. Jeff Louna on guitar, nice,
Orchestre Tao-Tao de Paris, Rythme, Ambiance, mouvement..tracks;
1 Santa Mutombo
2 Ngbonga ti liberté
3 Lolango
4 Nzambe alakisi la véritéPosted by Moosat 8:21 PMCategories

On Sacodis, Lassissi Présente ‘Bopol Mansiamina’.
If you speak of guitar driven, Bopol Mansiamina as a
string magician guarantees just that. His music
stands firm as a house and rocks on and on. Co-produced
by Bopol himself, the man knew what he was doing. Sacodis’
info is very poor and the backsleeve gives no names at all.
Come on connaisseurs of Congolese music, who are the
other players on this album ? Syran probably,
who else ? I’m sure some of you know..tracks;
1 Mariage forcé
2 Yenga yenga
3 Kale ye ngangu
4 Ye… a bougerPosted by Moosat 8:12 PMCategories

Soukous for soukous-lovers. Zaïko Langa-Langa was one of
the leading bands during the eighties. I have no year on this one,
do you ? Tout Choc, Anti Choc, check it out yourself.tracks;
1 Kabobo
2 Anzele muambu
3 Ize bola
4 Daïd’anoPosted by Moosat 7:18 PM - Friday July 9, 2010
It is hot in the Netherlands. With temperatures rising up to 36º C, or more
this weekend. The whole country is in a hot summer mood, hanging out
on terraces with big glasses of cold beer. Same time we are all very exited
about being in the finals of the worldcup. Orange fever going ’round the land.
The music that fits a hot summer night like no other, a nice piece
of steady soukous. Choc Stars are the band to fulfil that request
for us tonight. Make a slow but groovy dance with Choc Stars.tracks;
1 Kelemani – djeuni
2 Deserteur
3 Presence
4 OziPosted by Moosat 7:26 PM - Thursday March 11, 2010
From Cameroon we have this LP by Les Veterans. It’s a big band that
plays both Bikutsi, a typical Cameroonian style with naughty lyrics
and the use of ballaphones and more Rumba like styles like Soukous.
On this 1983 album they bring us both. Soukous on track 1 & 4,
Bikutsi on 2 & 3. Have fun with Les Veterans.tracks;
1 Si
2 Kulu
3 Jeannine
4 Ze mangaPosted by Moosat 7:21 PM - Sunday January 10, 2010
To add a little contrast with yesterday’s post, today an LP by
Orchestre Empire Bakuba but from the late eighties I am guessing.
Quite a different setting and sound, up tempo soukous this time.tracks;
1 Amour Sanda
– Sango ya mawa
2 Trouble
– Ami cointro
3 Petshi pour Ida
– Moto pasiPosted by Moosat 7:48 PM - Tuesday November 10, 2009
Some LP covers don’t give any information, others give you an overload,
such as this one. Front and back give us plenty to read about this band.
The only thing I miss is a year of release, do you know ? Offspring of the
old Zaïko Langa Langa, this LP must be from the later 80’s. Uptempo
top of the bill Soukous, enjoy it.tracks;
1 Muvaro
– Mupepa
– Kamango
– Essese
– Nady
– Makoko
2 Bena
3 Fafa ( Papa Dady )Posted by Moosat 8:56 PMCategories

It’s only just wednesday evening but if you put on this record, volume
up, you’ll be dancing around the room in no time. Pepe Kalle’s soukous
rocks like no other and sitting is just no option with this album.
Just down it, put it on, and get up from that chair..
By the way, the trackorder on the backsleeve is different from
the label. I believe the last one.tracks;
1 Liya liya faina
2 Ekofo
3 Djamaica
4 MandjaPosted by Moosat 8:54 PMCategories
