Hello and good morning on this Easterday. I think it’s for the first
time we are having us a white Easter. Even with Chrsitmas we
had better weather, it’s cold and snowing on this 31st of march.
Spring just doesn’t realise we’re already entering april tomorrow.Winter or spring, we play tropical music all year round so that
makes no difference. Today I’ll spoil you with some ‘Tropical de
Colombia’. From 1975 on Discos Fuentes de Medellin Colombia
we’ve got this wonderful album by Los Corraleros de Majagual.
This supergroup had relations with the most fantastic artists.
On this album alone we find Lisandro Meza, Eliseo Herrera,
Julio Erazo and Calixto Ochoa to name just a few. But they
also hosted Alfredo Gutierrez, Lucho Argain and Nacho
Paredes among many others. Great vocalists, hot
rhythmsection and horns, better don’t miss..tracks;

Hello groovers, today I received another request for an lp
by King Sunny Adé, called ‘Destiny’. I’m so sorry but I don’t
have that one. Next month we’ll have us another recordfair in
Utrecht, you never know. To comfort those in search I’ve got
this album. “Bobby” is a tribute to the late Olabinjo (Bobby)
Benson, see picture. No idea who he was but the music
is marvelous, that’s for sure. Enjoy it while we keep on
lookin’ for more, get it, spread it & enjoy..p.s. on Wikipedia I discovered
Bobby Benson was a Nigerian
highlife composer and musician.tracks;

Good morning, welcome at the Global Groove. Spring has
officially started this week but nature doesn’t seem to realize
yet. It’s cold in the Netherlands, still freezing at night and folks
are slowly getting tired of it. Let’s try and concentrate on a better
climate to arrive real soon. To help us get through, this lp will
surely add to that warmer feeling. ‘Les Bantous’ made quite
some wonderful albums and this is no exception. From 1975
on Pathé Marconi we’ve got us ‘Les Grands Succes Africains’
volume 3, a real sweet treat that will make temperatures
rise without any doubt, get it & spread it..tracks;
1 Makambo mibale
2 Mama na mwana
3 Ya gaby
4 Monsieur, on va se marier
5 Meno nkumbi nzila

About the fifteenth album by these guys at the GG. In a little
while they’ll all be having working links again, but for now..
A bit dusty but nevertheless one more Oriental Brothers lp
which we can’t get enough to my humble opinion. Listen
to this 1984 ‘Ndi Ji Ego’ and get the taste already,
get it & spread it..tracks;
1 Uwa safe
2 Ndi ji egoPosted by Moosat 4:51 PMCategories

Amakye Dede began his career when he joined the Kumapim
Royals as a composer and vocalist. He formed the Apollo Kings
around 1980. He moved to Nigeria and dominated the highlife
scene during 80’s and 90’s. With almost 20 albums to his credit
he now owns a bar in Accra where he helps celebrate live-band
music. Listen to this lp and agree, this ’88 highlife is hot..tracks;
1 Dantuo mu awosee
2 Metee ye akye
3 Daben na odo beba
4 Magye me girl

Hello world, it is saturday morning this 9th of march,
spring is not there yet and that shows. Rain, rain and
more rain is pouring from the sky. Winter took far too
long to pass this year and we’re all glad temperatures
are rising slowly, we’re not there yet but it gets better.
The best we can do is take an advance on summer by
listening to some warm soukous for instance. Bopol
Mansiamina is the man I have in mind and he’s back
with this album on which we find some of the finest
artists. On guitars next to Bopol himself we’ve got
Lokassa ya M’bongo and Dally Kimoko. On bass
it’s Bopol once more and he’s also taking care of
vocals with Wuta May, Ballou and Jean Papy.
Denis Hekimian on drums, nothing can go
wrong here. In the mean time we’re
making good progress with the
new and improved GG..
Hang in there a
bit more..tracks;
1 Ça c’est quoi ?
2 Mu karame
3 Makwandungu
4 Patience
5 MaizoPosted by Moosat 4:40 PM - Tuesday February 26, 2013
Ramdog’s Rough Site is catching lots of spam so I thought
since it doesn’t work properly anymore I might as well
remove the whole thing. A couple of posts I wanted to save
are now available here, get them if you please..Posted by Moosat 3:09 PM - Tuesday February 26, 2013Posted by Moosat 2:59 PM
