Strictly looking at numbers of comments I can say
African music-genres are doing best at the GG. Do
you like a little reggae as well sometimes, then y’re
lucky today. For those who think; “nèè, not for me,..”,
I wanna say, “give this lp a try, nothing to loose but half
an hour of your time..and this is one of my absolute
heroes, with Sly, Robbie, Sky, Skully,
Ossie ans Winston.
..and African vibe..note; backsleeve

..and that’s three. With the first album of Master Bob
Akwaboah, I told you I didn’t hear of him before. Meanwhile
this is the third one we have and we are slowly getting
familiar with his sound. I think I’m becoming a fan..tracks;

This lp by Orchestre Stukas was waiting to get posted
for quite some time. I was just about to bring it when
‘snap crackle and pops’ posted it. That was almost a
year ago and I think today is the day to re-post so to
speak. I am sorry my copy has a few little pops at the
very beginning of track one. Further than that it is in
fine condition. Lita Bembo and Orchestre Stukas were
extremely popular and the ‘african’ releases
360.130 and 360.131 made
a huge contribution.“The new music, of which Thu Zahina was a leading
component, was raw and energetic, with emphasis on
spiralling, interactive guitars and rattling snare drums
during the seben, and hardly a horn to be heard. Taking
elements of the animation ( shouting ) from strident forms
of shanty-town music, and also from the wordplay used
at Bakongo funerals, the new bands brought an extra vitality
to the music, adapting traditional dances like the soukous
and inventing new ones such as the ‘cavacha’ to accompany
the extended seben. The groups which capitalised most on
the new wave were Stukas, led by the outrageous showman
Lita Bembo, who played with a frenetic intensity,…”

We had several of their lp’s before. Pierre Moutouari,
and his brother Kosmos were part of this great band
through the seventies. This is Orchestre Sinza, the
mordant sound of their electric guitars is brought to
expression in this wonderful frontcover image. See
that vicious looking snake approaching the bass
and suggesting a tension of some kind. Well, just
play it and you’ll understand. You’ll feel a sense
of toxication, stupefying yet not venomous. I dare
say, this lp belongs to the best ever

I am sure I know a couple of visitors who’ll like this.
If you are into juju, you will enjoy an old I.K. Dairo.
I sure do, but serious, take care, it may
contain JC blabber.., that’s the flipside
of the coin with juju. If you don’t
understand it’s perfect,
very nice music.
