Docteur Nico comes in with this 1983 album, It’s most
certainly not his best. I am posting it because it’s
the only one I’ve got and I like to use it to show you
a very nice film at Worldservice,
a blog you’ll like to know.
If you like to know more about Docteur Nico, check_this.

I think I’ve got to make up a bit with all Latinlovers in our
community. It’s been a while since we had some nice salsa.
In 1972, Johnny Pacheco and Pete ‘El Conde’ Rodriguez were
at the peak of their career. There are no other musicians
credited here, a shame because they really deserve to be.
Very fine album by the man without whom Fania wouldn’t have
been the same, Johnny Pacheco is the Man.tracks;

Did you like Prince Nico Mbarga ?
This is a special album, the song ‘Sweet Mother’, how strange
this may seem, is the biggest African song of all time.
Not one other African song sold so many copies throughout
the world. It’s not that special on first hearing.
Prince Nico’s music in general however is great, I love it.
And how about you ?tracks;
1 Sweet mother
2 Wayo inlaw

Who is the reggae singer with the sweetest voice on earth ?
Horace Andy is the name, this is an early recording called
after his huge hit, ‘Skylarking’. You might know him by his
collaboration with the English group ‘Massive Attack’.
This is an album, produced by the legendary Cocksone Dodd
on his Studio One label. A must have.tracks;

Prince Nico Mbarga scored his first huge hit in 1976 with the song
‘Sweet Mother’, this album was originally released one year later,
in 1977. The copy we have here is a ‘Rounder’ re-release from 1982.
I quote a line from the backcover; “…if you don’t start dancing
five minutes into the first song, check your pulse to ascertain
whether you’re still alive…”
This is African music with stunning guitarwork and great rhythm.tracks;
1 Free education in Nigeria
2 Onye ori obi
3 Simplicity
4 NaturePosted by Moosat 4:05 PMCategories

From Trinidad comes this Soca album. The word ‘soca’ stands for
‘Soul Calypso’. Kitch is the man who was there, developing it.
The overall spirit on this album is good, it gives us some
tracks that still contain a lot of the old Calypso feeling.
It has one track however, he could have left away for my part.
Track no. 8 does not really belong here.
Aldwin Roberts is his real name, listen to ‘Kitch’!tracks;
