One of the bigger names regarding Bolero is certainly Vicentico
Valdes. Having played with for instance La Sonora Matancera
his romantic tenor voice is known across the United States,
Europe and South America. Put on this record and dance

sounds on track 1.tracks;

From Trinidad comes this Soca album. The word ‘soca’ stands for
‘Soul Calypso’. Kitch is the man who was there, developing it.
The overall spirit on this album is good, it gives us some
tracks that still contain a lot of the old Calypso feeling.
It has one track however, he could have left away for my part.
Track no. 8 does not really belong here.
Aldwin Roberts is his real name, listen to ‘Kitch’!tracks;
1 Soca Millicent
2 The spirit
3 Dog bite you
4 Symphony in G

This is Orchestre Régional de Sikasso, the fourth album in
this series that I have. I believe there’s one more at least by
Orchestre Régional de Mopti. If any one has it..
To be more complete I added some backcover information below.tracks;
1 Récital
2 Mali sènèkèlaw
3 Nafarima
4 Batuta moriPosted by Moosat 9:01 PM - Sunday September 21, 2008
I was going to make some nice posts today, at least I thought
I would. Work is coming in between again. If you run your own
business, and staffmembers turn sick…, you know.
To post a little something I ripped this 12″ single,
really didn’t have more time.
The coming days are not much different I’m affraid.
I wish I could take a month off, I’d stuff you all. Ha ha.
This is Gasper Lawal, a West African ( I think Malinese )
who went to the UK in the sixties and practically played
with all rock artists around.
He is his own man with his own unique style, Check this out.P.S. At the first opportunity I’ll rip Ochestre Régional
de Sikasso for you, it’s No.4 in that Malinese series.
Probably tuesday, untill then.tracks;
1 Kita Kita
2 Oro-MoroPosted by Moosat 2:10 PM - Sunday September 21, 2008
Forró is music from Brazil’s North-East, a very pleasant style
that makes you feel at home right away. Accordeons always
seem to give me that warm kind of feeling you have with
friends and family. Anyway, this is Nazaré Pereira, a singer
with a very nice round voice. And ‘Amazônia’ an album, perfect
for a quiet sunday afternoon. By the way, if you like Forró,
take a look at ‘Forró em Vinil’ a very nice page you find
in my list of favourites at the side-bar. Listen.tracks;
1 Riacho do navio
2 Baia veia Baia
3 Xapuri do Amazônas
4 Sodade meu bem, sodade
5 Flecha de fogo
6 O Baiao em Paris
7 O que vier eu traço
8 Forró no escuro
9 Nuvens que passam
10 Kalu
11 Boi bumbaP.S. there seems to be something wrong at ‘Forró en Vinil’, sorry.

THIS IS A REPOST !
I got a few comments on this LP that was posted already some
time ago at Global Groove. There seemed to be something wrong
with the quality, so I decided to rip it again to the latest
standards. Cover scans are also better.This is an oldie. From 1967 this is Byron Lee with some very
happy music. Jump Up is Calypso related and originally not
from Jamaica. But Byron Lee controlled all Caribbean styles.
If you need to upgrade your party summerstyle, this one is
guaranteed 100 % Jump Up !tracks;
1 Riverbank Jump Up
2 Benwood Dick
3 El negrito
4 The road march
5 Jamaica Jump Up
6 Happy wanderer
7 Elaine, Harry and mama
8 Second hand piano
9 St. Thomas
10 Village ram
11 Surprise merengue
12 Laziest manPosted by Moosat 9:08 PM - Saturday September 20, 2008
For all lovers of Mali music, here’s number 3 out of the 4

lead by bandmaster ‘Harouna Barry’. The fine voice we hear
belongs to ‘Touré’. Enjoy it.tracks;
1 Sanjina
2 Kayi
3 Nanyuman
4 Duga
5 Malisajo
6 Tèrèna
7 BadagePosted by Moosat 7:48 PM - Saturday September 20, 2008
Martinho da Vila is back with a true beauty.
From 1975, this is ‘Maravilha de Cenario’, only the best
