- Thursday January 5, 20126 comments on Les Bantous – Tam Tam Bantous,Editions Tam Tam Bantous
2012 is starting off with some serious artists at the GG. One of
our favourite Congolese bands is this one. Les Bantous are
back with some serious sh*t indeed. Eight songs of class A
quality to bring back some more of the good old days..tracks;
1 Bandoki na boyi
2 Mbonguana
3 Annie ditsou
4 El loco
5 Banoko ya mokili
6 Mayele ya moto
7 Safou
8 momoPosted by Moosat 11:12 PM - Monday January 2, 2012
Let me tell you straight, this is a masterpiece. I think this
must be Bopol’s best lp ever, damn..I love it. With Nyboma’s
wonderful vocals, Dally on guitar and Bopol on bass, bloody
brilliant. I need to tell you something else. It’s not the first time
that while listening to the music it becomes clear they mixed up
the titles. track one is ‘Cardiaque ya l’amour’ and track two
is obvious ‘Décèption motema’. Both sleeve and label state
the other way around. I changed the tracklist and put it in
the order it is on the actual vinyl, seemed logic, enjoy.tracks;
1 Cardiaque ya l’amour
2 Décèption motema
3 Issa touré

Good evening groovers, happy new year. Last night I watched
a fantastic show at BBC 2 television. I had enough wild party’s
in my life and the annual hootenanny with Jools Holland is a
program I always watch when I’m at home newyears eve. He
always has the most wonderful guests, young and older talent
are brought together. It’s a joy to see so many super happy
people enjoying all that marvelous music played alive. The
Dutch new years evening shows can’t compare with this
Brittish masterpiece of TV-making. It is my deepest
wish to, you never know, some day be able to join
that crowd at Jools’ annual show. I can’t imagine
a better party than that one. Do you have
that inside connection ?Meantime, what have
we got cooking for y’all today ?
Koffi Olomide’s first lp at this page.

Good morning groovers. 2011 went by faster then prehensible.
This is already the last post for this year. It is a 12″ single that
was not for sale. It was a present of the ‘Banque Commerciale
Congolaise’ for their ‘binal annuel’. A rare single by Youlou
Mabiala. I do not know who are accompanying him on this
one, I think it must be his group ‘Kamikaze Loningisa’.
Anyway, thank you all for being such loyal visitors and
keep checking the Global Groove in 2012. We’re
gonna continue to try and bring the unexpected.
Lots of luck and health in the new year !tracks;

Very powerful album by one of the offsprings of the
famous Zaïko Langa-Langa. The Choc Stars deliver
a slow kind of soukous, cool and mellow yet passionate.
Don’t you just love Carlito’s fragile vocals ? Sweet.tracks;
1 Ponini eza mpasi
2 Abengi ngai depasse
3 Mauvais souvenir, buana
4 ZikondoPosted by Moosat 9:42 PM - Monday December 19, 2011
Subject of today’s post is this LP by Verckys et l Órchestre
Vévé. It appears on ‘Editions Vévé International’ in collaboration
with ‘Sacodis’. In their series ‘Lassissi présente’ it is LS 65 and
on Editions Vévé it is EVVI 11D. It feels like one of those
albums that will stay forever. Timeless rocksolid
rumba-rock from Congo’s wonderful
seventies, damn good.tracks;
1 Dribling ya somo
2 Djumani
3 Obaluki
4 Espoir perduPosted by Moosat 8:10 PMCategories

Do you know that saying, ‘never judge a book by looking
at it’s cover’ ? The same wisdom can be used here. About
everything at this sleeve is tasteless. These two guys deserve
a whole lot better to my opinion, and the album as well. Driving
force behind the music machine is the versatile Rigo. The voices
belong to these heroes, Josky Kiambukuta and Madilu System.tracks;
1 Destin
2 Erreur
3 La sincerité
4 PriereP.S.
Only during the recording of the fourth track
I realized it has a religious message. If I had seen
it sooner I would have ignored the album. I am against
all religion. It is strictly out of respect for these
great singers I let it slip through,
enjoy nevertheless !Posted by Moosat 8:44 PM - Sunday December 11, 2011
Good afternoon, oncemore I am asking for your opinion on
a matter. The title of this LP is ‘Live Recording of the Afro
European Tour’. When listening I get the impresssion the
music was made in a studio and the audience was mixed
in afterwards. We saw it before. Another strange thing is
that the pictures inside show the band playing in a studio.
I could be wrong, what do you think ? One way or the other,
the music is as Franco as always, just beautiful, enjoy !tracks;

Let’s continue to fill up the gaps in ‘african’s 360.000 list.
Today’s post concerns number 360.155 from 1986. We
already found a few of these songs on other collectors on
this label, #’s 2 and 4 for instance. The major part however
wasn’t exposed yet. If you’re into Congolese music, you
may consider this a classic, don’t miss it !tracks;

Bimi Ombale was one of the founders of Zaiko Langa-Langa
in 1969. This LP is from 1989 and proves Bimi was still
able to write some wonderful songs just
as he did at Zaïko’s.tracks;
1 Inongo
2 Mbelengo
3 Charama
4 Lelo komikalela
5 MadiPosted by Moosat 9:33 PM
