“With wealthy Nigerian backers, Sir” Shina Peters combined
juju with elements of Fela Kuti’s Afro-Beat style and the upfront
drum sounds of fuji music into a style he dubbed Afro-Juju.”
( Rough Guide )
This 1984 album on Makossa fascinates from beginning to end.
Sir Shina Peter’s afro-juju is full of surprising turns and sounds,
We had a ‘Sir Shina Adewale’ album in december 2008, here’s
the link to that album as well.
“Segun Adewale started out as a backup singer, with Shina
Peters, in the band of Prince Adekunle , a contemporary of
I.K. Dairo’s, before splitting off to form their own group
which they called, with no trace of irony,
Shina Adewale.” ( Rough Guide )tracks;
1 Ko temi fun mi
– Omo ilewe ( student )
2 Olojo nkajo ( maturity )
– Dapo tejuosho familyPosted by Moosat 3:29 PMCategories

Somewhere during last week I received a request for more
Kollington Ayinla or fuji in general. Do you know these guys
already ? Strange thing if you ‘google’ Micky Adisa you’ll
find nothing and if you google Fuji Londoners you get to
Sikiru Ayinde Barrister or the Royal Talazo Fuji Londoners.
One way or the other, this an lp by Micky Adisa
& his Original Fuji Londoners,
listen..tracks;

– Aljhaji yusuff lowode
– Afro fuji system

Some time back I met with two Belgians, they frequent
several African countries to find special lp’s. On their last

of the album. Get it & spread it..tracks;

- Tuesday December 10, 201312 comments on Canadoes Super Stars of Ghana
led by Big Boy Dansoh
Fine Woman, Rogers All Stars 1981Today’s contribution starts out a bit crackly but the noise
doesn’t bother much. Canadoes appear on RAS
from Nigeria, it is one of those Ghanaian highlife groups
that went there to get their stuff to sound different.
Two things, always nice to have a little puzzling to do,
label says it’s from 1981 and backsleeve says from 1982.
And then, front cover states it should be LIVE, but
it absolutely does not give me that impression,
what do you think ..?tracks;
1 Enowaa ko hene
– Ayikoo dum
– Konsuo nanaa
2 Fine woman
3 Me nyame braPosted by Moosat 2:21 PMCategories

This coming weekend we’ll have the next mega record & cd fair in
Utrecht again. This two times a year event is one I’m always looking
forward to, it brings recorddealers from all over Europe and beyond.
The fall edition like this one is mostly the better fair so I’m quite
confident in finding us some treasures. I’ll prepare myself by making
a wishlist and go hunting. Keep your fingers crossed for me to find
some of the missing links and we’ll get lucky. Today’s contribution
concerns a record by one of the most popular artists at this blog.
The Oriental Brothers Band with Dr. Sir Warrior always find
a happy listening ear somewhere and I’m sure this one
also will. The rhythms are just spectacular, I love’m.
So,.. get it, spread it & enjoy..tracks;
1 Warrior abiala ozor
2 Onye di nma na azu
3 Nke onye diri yaPosted by Moosat 6:23 PMCategories

When I first saw this album it gave me the impression it
would be Fuji or Apala, you know, this Alhaji Sir thing.
It seemed I was wrong, the lp brings highlife and even a
reggaesong. Not really a fan of african reggae but some-
how this one doesn’t disturb. The highlife feel is dominant
and the music more melodic than expected, ..nice..tracks;
1 Ivienagbo oyoyo three
2 Omo nonyanya krees imodibie
3 Amiemawamiegue : hakuri
4 Oghena kemhitse – oyoyo reggaePosted by Moosat 6:11 PMCategories
