Who remembers les Mangelepa ? It is one of those Congolese
groups that moved to Kenya and made lots of records there. This lp
is from 1989 and was released by Gramma and produced by Bothwell
Nyamhondera & Henry Peters. Label and first producer
I only knew from Zimbabwan artist Thomas Mapfumo, now
with Mangelepa. They call this music Kwasa-Kwasa
dance, a type of soukous also made by for
instance Pépé Kallé, listen
and dance away..tracks;
1 Cherie tracy
2 Tosambela nzambe
3 Kamulabi
4 MokiliPosted by Moosat 6:29 PMCategories

some time..play it in your car, turn up the volume
and go wild..careful though..explosive stuff..

Hello good evening, it is time for lovers of Congolese music
tonight. It has been a while but this lp will surely make up
for the hiatus. Pablo Lubadika wrote some swell tracks in
his time and the tunes we play today add up to the justly
expectations as such. With the participation of Dizzy
Mandjeku and the vocals of Asi Kapela,
sweet hornsection, an album I
couldn’t resist, can you ? You
know the drill, do not wait,
Get it & Spread it !tracks;
1 Y’a plus confiance
2 Igalios
3 Yie ya mobali
4 Loba véritéPosted by Moosat 9:03 PM - Monday January 2, 2012
Let me tell you straight, this is a masterpiece. I think this
must be Bopol’s best lp ever, damn..I love it. With Nyboma’s
wonderful vocals, Dally on guitar and Bopol on bass, bloody
brilliant. I need to tell you something else. It’s not the first time
that while listening to the music it becomes clear they mixed up
the titles. track one is ‘Cardiaque ya l’amour’ and track two
is obvious ‘Décèption motema’. Both sleeve and label state
the other way around. I changed the tracklist and put it in
the order it is on the actual vinyl, seemed logic, enjoy.tracks;
1 Cardiaque ya l’amour
2 Décèption motema
3 Issa touré

Good evening groovers, happy new year. Last night I watched
a fantastic show at BBC 2 television. I had enough wild party’s
in my life and the annual hootenanny with Jools Holland is a
program I always watch when I’m at home newyears eve. He
always has the most wonderful guests, young and older talent
are brought together. It’s a joy to see so many super happy
people enjoying all that marvelous music played alive. The
Dutch new years evening shows can’t compare with this
Brittish masterpiece of TV-making. It is my deepest
wish to, you never know, some day be able to join
that crowd at Jools’ annual show. I can’t imagine
a better party than that one. Do you have
that inside connection ?Meantime, what have
we got cooking for y’all today ?

Very powerful album by one of the offsprings of the
famous Zaïko Langa-Langa. The Choc Stars deliver
a slow kind of soukous, cool and mellow yet passionate.
Don’t you just love Carlito’s fragile vocals ? Sweet.tracks;
1 Ponini eza mpasi
2 Abengi ngai depasse
3 Mauvais souvenir, buana
4 ZikondoPosted by Moosat 9:42 PM - Monday November 28, 2011
Some highly infectious soukous by one of the masters in the
field. Diblo and le Groupe Loketo are here with some of his
special invités. If you have a dance event coming and need
strong material, give ‘Super K’ a chance, knock out sound,
..better save it for last ’cause where to go next..?
Oh and eh,..don’t forget to watch the video,..dope..tracks;
1 Amour et souvenir
2 Etoula
3 Bolingo

An absolut magnificent find is this rare collector. It contains
a fine example of a Pierre Moutouari song from the seventies.

Tonight, my fellow groovers, I am asking for your help on
a matter. While recording this LP I discovered a mistake.
Track 4 is obviously ‘Aziza’ instead of track 3. I am assuming
the titles on side-b have been switched around but I’m not 100 %
sure. Track 1 is titled correctly to my opinion, I think to hear the
name in the music. Maybe track 2 and track 3 are still wrong.
Can you give us your view on the case ? Good,
than we can sit and enjoy these four
jiving songs, check…tracks;
1 Lukoli
2 Awela-awela
3 Decca
4 AzizaPosted by Moosat 11:37 PM
