Frontsleeve of this collector claims the album is covering participation
of only three artists but in fact we find six on it. Therefore I rank this one
under the caller various artists. With a song by the legendary Nacho Paredes.
The lionpart however is for Eliseo Herrera with his incredible vocal skills.
We find cumbias, porros and other tropical de Colombia.
Lp is in mint condition..

Deze verzamelaar wordt toegeschreven aan drie artiesten maar eigenlijk
doen er zes verschillende aan mee. Ik schaal hem daarom onder de groep
various artists. Met een nummer van de legendarische Nacho Paredes.
Het leeuwendeel is echter voor Eliseo Herrera met zijn razendsnelle
vokale skills, we vinden cumbias porros en tropical de Colombia.
De plaat verkeert in mint conditie..

Money palaver, all good and well but money is and stays
rubbish. Necessary evil. Such a shame we can’t live without.
Money and religion are the cause of war, murder and crime.
Same time it is very handy to have a load of it, money that is.
Not a day passes without us being busy dealing with it, maybe
best to palaver like Chief Dr. Orlando Owoh here, listen.

Gewauwel over geld, money palaver, allemaal aardig maar het
blijft rommel. Noodzakelijk kwaad. Zo jammer dat we er niet
omheen kunnen met z’n allen. Geld en geloof zijn de oorzaak
van oorlog, moord en doodslag. Tegelijk is het handig er een
hoop van te hebben, geld dan. Er gaat geen dag voorbij of we
zijn er mee bezig. Misschien dan maar wat gewauwel zoals
Chief Dr. Orlando Owoh hier bezigt, versta er geen snars van
maar het is vast diep en zinnig. Luister zelf.

Just like with Scorpio also with Les Gypsies de Petion-Ville it is
Robert Martino who deals the cards. I also love the drumming
part on this record. Another great piece of compas from Haïti
you don’t want to miss, get it now..

Net als bij Scorpio is ook bij Les Gypsies de Petion-Ville Robert
Martino de man die de scepter zwaait. Daarnaast is het vooral
de drummer die enorm opvalt op deze plaat. Alweer zo’n stukkie
compas uit Haïti dat je zeker niet zult willen missen,
pak hem snel..

This is a Re-Post. We had already six of their albums, amongst
which, this one. It was in december 2015 but its condition was
far worse so a better version was something to wish for. The sleeve
is different and it sounds perfect, on Appibros from 1982.
Have fun listening once again..

Van de Kumapim Royals hebben we er al zo’n zes gezien waarvan
de laatste in december van het vorige jaar. Deze is van uitzonderlijk
goede kwaliteit, zowel het vinyl als de muziek mag ik wel zeggen.
We hebben deze plaat al gezien in maart 2015 maar in vrij slechte
conditie, deze Re-Post is dus een zeer welkome, veel luisterplezier..

One of Congos best guitarists of all time is Lokassa ya M’bongo.
This is his Best of.. album from 1983. Asi Kapela does vocals
like on other albums, Ringo Moya on drums..enjoy.
btw, Lokassa called this album ‘M’ , all titles start with M..

Een van Congo’s beste gitaristen is zonder twijfel Lokassa ya
M’Bongo. Vandaag hebben we zijn ‘Best of..’ album. Asi Kapela

An oldie today with the popular Sonora Dinamita. The great
Lucho Argain is also present on this one. I could not find a
year of release for this record. As far as my Spanish goes
however I think it must be one of their earlier albums.
One way or the other, we’re dealing with 12 sweet songs..

Een oudje vandaag van de populaire Sonora Dinamita. Met de
grote Lucho Argain. Het lukte me niet het jaar te achterhalen
van deze plaat. Voor zover ik het Spaans begrijp echter moet
het een van hun eerdere elpees zijn. Links of rechts om, de

J.A.Adofo is de man achter de City Boys Band, ongelofelijk
lekkere highlife uit Ghana met de zwarte Chinees. Vanzelf
is het ook zijn geweldige band die credit staat voor de sound
van City Boys. Informatie krijgen we hierover overigens niet.
De hoes laat niets los, dan maar gewoon luisteren..

J.A.Adofo is the man behind the City Boys Band, incredible
nice highlife from Ghana with the black Chinese. Of course
it is also his wonderful group that deserves credit for the
sound of City Boys. Unfortunately backsleeve does not give
us any information on the topic. Well, let’s just listen..

Almost ten years ago I posted an album by these guys.
Five heroes in samba, Seu Jair do Cavaquinho, Nelson
Sargento, Elton medeiros, Mauro Duarte and Anescarzinho
do Salgueiro formed Os Cinco Crioulos. This is a record from
1969, sweet early samba songs. I am a huge lover of this sound.

Het is bijna tien jaar geleden dat ik een plaatje van deze jongens
heb gepost. Vijf samba helden in mijn optiek, Seu Jair do Cavaquinho,
Nelson Sargento, Elton medeiros, Mauro Duarte en Anescarzinho
do Salgueiro vormden Os Cinco Crioulos. Dit is en elpee uit 1969,
Heerlijke vroege sambas waar je ogenblikkelijk blij van wordt.

This is Frederick Nathaniel hibbert, better known as Toots
Hibbert from Toots & the Maytals. The elpee we’ve got today
has been released in many forms. Island originally came with
it in 1973. My copy concerns the 1976 re-release. It has the
same tracks as the original one. Some other versions contain
more songs. As the title suggests the reggae is slightly funky,
typical ’73 sound from the caribbean island when a lot of soul
was made . Always loved Funky Kingston, get it and spread it..

Dit is Frederick Nathaniel hibbert, beter bekend als Toots
Hibbert van Toots & the Maytals. De plaat die we vandaag
hebben is in veel verschillende uitgaven verschenen. Island
kwam er eerst mee in 1973. Mijn kopie is een heruitgave uit
1976. Hij bevat dezelfde nummers als de eerste. Sommige
versies hebben meer liedjes. Zoals reeds in de titel gesug-
gereerd bevat de elpee een iets funkiër soort reggae.
Typisch ’73 geluid van het caribbisch eiland waar in die
periode veel soul werd gemaakt. Funky Kingston is een
hit die altijd goed blijft, pak hem en pass hem..
