Hello, good morning. Today we’ve got something quite
rare, an album on the Ride Away label, don’t know from

Good morning, it’s been some time since we’ve seen
him pass by, le Grand Maître however keeps coming
back every once in a while. This 1980 lp on VISA is
one we didn’t have yet. The album sounds fairly good
it has one small pop in track one but that’s it. Another
sweet piece of Franco’s huge legacy, enjoy it..
p.s. I’ve got some software problems so
I could not rescale to cd sized front.tracks;
01 – Peuch del sol
02 – Na bali misere
03 – Mbawu na ko recuperer yo
04 – Bolingo ya moitie moitiePosted by Moosat 7:49 AM - Wednesday April 29, 2015
We had a couple of his records, Dan Amakye Dede
and his Apllo International Band of Ghana. He started
as composer and treble singer with the Kumapim Royals.
In 1980 he began forming his own group. The first record
they made was “To be a man na wah !”, I have it waiting
for another occasion, it is scratched a little. Today we’ve
got their second album which was a huge succes in 1984.
Recorded in Onitsha, Nigeria. Listen..tracks;
01 – Jealousy
02 – Yaba
03 – Abusua
04 – Ife anyi chukwu
05 – MensuroPosted by Moosat 7:53 AMCategories

During the past week I’ve been very busy redecorating and
adding new interior to my little shop. No time for anything
else. Now we have weekend and finally find some
time to post another record. Let’s see..A group we haven’t seen here earlier is this great vallenato
band. Los Cañaguateros have a solid sound, jumpy bass,
singer Pedro Garcia with his strong voice, I like it a lot.
Then turning the vinyl, we find some other hot vallenato
bands like Isaac Carrillo and his Conjunto with Colacho
Mendoza on accordeon, Alberto Fernandez’ with Gustavo
Gutiérrez and Alfredo Gutierrez with Los del Cesar.
A must have for lovers of good vallenato. Enjoy..tracks;

The album I intended to post last sunday was this one Kwabena.
When going through them I picked the one with more or less
similar front sleeve. Anyway, here is another of their lp’s from
the same year 1978. It is a little bit noisy but I think it’s one
of their better records, Yellow Sisi and Okponku Special
are straight hits and at least worth a couple of
spins, enjoy doing so..tracks;
01 – Awisaah
02 – Yellow sisi
03 – Okwan da ma mini
04 – Okponku specialPosted by Moosat 9:55 PMCategories

Not long ago we had the first Ignacio Piñeiro at the GG,
today it’s turn for another. I must thank our buddy Sanjay
for finding this one. It was recorded in 1958 and a true beauty.
This is a re-issue from I don’t know what year.
Son montuno of old fashioned quality.tracks;
01 – Buey viejo
02 – Echale salsita
03 – Don lengua
04 – Alma guajira
05 – Lejana campiña
06 – La batidora
07 – Se fue la montuna
08 – Eterna primavera

Records by Les Leopards are quite hard to find, I got
lucky at the fair and found two. From Martinique and
containing various styles, this album is very pleasant.
Mazurka, cadence, reggae, calypso and biguine, this
one’s got it all, listen and make up your own mind..tracks;
01 – Incertitude
02 – Clair de lune
03 – Pas maille
04 – Mon vieux
05 – En le la levee
06 – Alphabet
07 – Midnight
08 – PinceauPosted by Moosat 9:45 AMCategories

A very popular highlife group in our little music community
is without doubt this one. Sammy Kofi and his Okukuseku
International Band of Ghana worked from Lagos Nigeria.
It’s on Muomaife Records and from 1978. Recorded in a
christian radio studio I do not wish to know what the
lyrics mean. I do know I like it very much musically.
Great rhythms, Sammy Kofi’s wonderful voice,
more sweet highlife, don’t miss..
p.s.
Track #3 has two small pops,
I’m sorry about that.tracks;
01 – Bz mi dua nie sae
02 – Abua zni dua nyane na pra no tio
03 – Sanka me wo adekye bi sen obia
04 – Mede meho aba munye mamiPosted by Moosat 9:07 AMCategories

How long has it been since I posted music from Mali ?
Too long I’d say. This is the Rail Band, we had several
of their records already, use our search-bar to find them.
This one is from 1976, some very nice tracks of which
I like number two the best, with Mory Kante and Salif
Keita both doing their part. Enjoy listening..tracks;
01 – Kankoun
02 – Tiramakan
03 – Soyomba
04 – Soundiata ( nouvelle version )Posted by Moosat 7:48 AM - Thursday April 16, 2015

condition and sounds as new. Another wonderful
find from the fair. We are so very lucky these
gems still pop up every once in
a while, enjoy it..tracks;
