Good morning, on special request we’ve got Alex Konadu
today. So here we go Kwabena, I have a couple of others
waiting but let’s start with the oldest. This lp is from 1977
and still in very good condition, mostly Ghanaian records
of that age look and sound quite worn out but we’re lucky
I guess. We had three of his albums before, just
search on Alex and find them easily..enjoy..tracks;
1 Adamfo pa
2 Ye gu nsa
3 Agya kwakye
4 Nsa nie
5 Odo me ko
6 Kae dabi
7 Opo nso me adwarePosted by Moosat 8:38 AM - Sunday September 14, 2014
Good morning groovers, do you remember our samplers?
We used to make them to suggest listening to the lp’s
the numbers come from. Every track refers to an album
posted here in the past. I stopped making them when
webhosters started to throw away our precious files but
from now they are back, you can count on that. The
numbers on this one come from lp’s posted halfway
2011 so there’s a whole lot of catching up to do.
For now, here’s volume 43, enjoy..tracks;
1 le Prince Youlou Mabiala & Kamikaze Longisa – Loufoulakari
2 The Lone Ranger – Every thing she want
3 Orchestre Masano – Mikala

Nana Kwame Ampadu I and his African Brothers are
back at the GG today. They made a whole lot of swell
records of which we had a bunch already. Often hard
to find a year of release, with this one I’ve got no idea.
The highlife we get to hear is very groovy but the lp’s
quality is not the best I’m affraid. Quite some crackles
especially at the b-side of the album. I’m still happy
to bring it though, such lovely music..listen..tracks;
1 Nea medofo aye me
2 Beye dek ne wonsere me

If I try to find this in the Rough Guide on latin and such,
there’s not any information. ‘Parranda’ music from Colombia
seems absent in the guide. They speak of parranda from
Venezuela and other countries but no Colombia. Bovea
and his Vallenatos are well known for their acoustic
interpretations of cumbias, merengues, paseos and
parranda. This lp from 1973 on ‘Discomoda’ gives
us some fine examples of their work. Guillermo
Buitrago, Hermanos Bedoya and Gildardo
Montoya, all soon to come..tracks;
1 La media luna
2 La desobediente
3 Tu no vales nada
4 Mi pollito colorao
5 La hamaca grande
6 Consuelito
7 La basurita
8 Mi amor de claudia
9 El pajarito de mi novia
10 La muerte de abel antonio
11 Nely

It is not blues, born in the late twenties, squeezebox,
rubboard and French lyrics, we’re talking of Zydeco. The
king of zydeco is Clifton Chenier, he shaped the sound
into this great party music, very happy and irresistible.
Check out this 1977 album on Arhoolie Records, Clifton
Chenier and his Red Hot Louisiana Band..tracks;
1 Grand prix
2 Hungry man blues
3 Parti de paris
4 Take off your dress
5 Paty down ( at the blue angel club )
6 Falksy girl
7 Easy, easy baby
8 Tante na na
9 Do right sometime

Such a shame I’m not in the opportunity to hunt for samba,
my country does not offer much and Brazil is not around the
corner. Every now and then I go through my collection and
check on items I haven’t posted yet, this Bezerra da Silva
for instance was waiting for it’s turn to get digitized and
today that finally happened. Bezerra’s music is always
critical of the social structure and full of funny lyrics.
Check his other lp’s we posted by using our
search-bar, there’s a bunch of them
waiting if you like..tracks;
1 Fofoqueiro é a imagem do cão
2 Partideiro indigesto
3 São murungar
4 O dr. está na sua capturação
5 Meu pai é genral de umbanda
6 Justiça social
7 Na hora da dura
8 Ilha grande

Eau Bénite… Hommage a Luambo Makiadi
Tamaris 1990I was in doubt for a while, the quality of this lp is not that
good, but untill I find a better specimen we’ll have to settle
with this one. It has some pops and sh*t but still.. the songs
about Franco send shivers down my spine. The group he
left behind didn’t vanish with ‘le grand maître’ but kept
making the music that used to be his life..
Madilu, Djo M’poy, N’dombe Opetum,
Josky and Simaro, all present
with the TP OK Jazz.tracks;
1 Eau bénite
2 Hommage a luambo-makiadi
3 Ladji-mundele
4 Jacquina
5 Pot pourri
6 Franco luamboPosted by Moosat 8:25 AMCategories

Quite some time ago, when still working with the old page,
I already posted this one. I don’t remember exactly why it
was removed in a later stage. Anyway, I thought it would
be good to make it available again. Such wonderful music
should be accessible so here it is once more, enjoy…tracks;

2 Serge
3 Ciska

I received a message saying, this lp also disappeared
from the global groove. I dived into it and found it’s true.
So, no problem, we’ll bring it again, and this time it’s
here to stay. Some of the sweetest Congolese songs
from the fifties, Enjoy them once again....if anyone finds any other lp missing,
leave me a message and I’ll restore it..
