About time I hear you think. I have always loved reggae music
and speaking of reggae and love, Gregory Isaacs with his sweet
voice was famous for his lovers-rock. This here album is not one
of his best known ones but may be all the more welcome for that
same reason. On Trojan records we have this lp from 1976,
“All I have is love”. Now I’m quite sure this one
is not going to stay up for long, so
get it, spread it and do it fast..
Enjoy..tracks;
1 Give hand

Some time back I met with two Belgians, they frequent
several African countries to find special lp’s. On their last
visit they brought back some rare stuff. Take this juju lp
by Thony Adex, untill now I had never heard of him.
I love them sweeping broomsounds in the beginning
of the album. Get it & spread it..tracks;

Okay fellow groovers, back to reality. When I first saw
this lp, I was naive and thought it had something to do
with Colombian salsa band ‘Sonora Carruseles’. And
when listening to the first track one continues to feel
a certain link with the group. However after searching
the web for it, I didn’t find anything. Listening to the lp
I got captured by surprise, as pleased as punch, “lo
Primero Conjunto Miramar” found it’s self another fan.
Original songs, no salsa but cumbias, porros, pregon,
Guaracha, son and guajira, pure sweetness to the ear.
Now I have tried to convince you before, so no more
superlatives, just get it and give it a spin..azúcar !..tracks;

What have we got for you today ?
I guess the Blacks Unlimited were at the peak of their
performance days when they made this here album in
1983. Maybe it’s just me but it sounds so fresh and
sparkling, almost like it was recorded yesterday.
I must say I am a big fan of Thomas Mapfumo’s
jivin’ chimurenga, it brings one in a type of
sweet trance you want to stay in for ever.
Get it, spread it & enjoy it…tracks;

An lp from the seventies, Congolese on Pathé Marconi,
what’s the chance we won’t like it ? Very small indeed.
This one was first released in 1964 and re-released in
1978. Some of the tracks towards the end sound quite
dusty without any traces of being played a whole lot.
It seems they took the tracks from lp instead of from
the mothertapes. One way or the other,
as far as I’m concerned, 17
songs to lick your lips with,

As some of you visitors may know, I am no lover
of instrumentals. Today we have something out of
the ordinary in that perspective. Haitian Compas
is a type of folkmusic in which I can dig it if not
too much. This lp by Les Docteurs du Rythme contains
both songs and instrumentals. It took me some time to
understand the flow in compas, but eventhough it
has a kinda corny side, I start liking it more
and more. I still prefer the songs though,
come and give it a try as well and start
digging Haitian compas.P.S.
I’m sorry the lp’s a-side is a bit out of centre so
the music gets a little false towards the end.tracks;

They call him the black Chinese, it is Obooba J.A. Adofo and
he leads the City Boys Band of Ghana. I am sorry the b-side
is a bit noisy but we can’t ask too much of an old lp. African
records come like this quite often, dusty and dirty, it has
been cleaned as good as possible but still.. The music
however is the winning factor here, even with some
noise, I still love to listen to it. I think it is justly
the Black Chinese has so many fans,
this is Ghanaian highlife like we
love it best..enjoy.tracks;

Good morning, how are you groovers today ? I hope very well.
I’ve been holding quite some records with the idea to post them
as soon as the new page would be ready. Now the work takes
so much more time then assumed upfront, some of the treasure
needs to find you folks with precedence I reckoned. This swell
collector on Pathé Marconi contains some of the best rumba’s
by Franco’s O.K. Jazz. Tracks from the hand of Franco himself
but also by Edo, de la Lune, Vicky and Brazzos. Recorded in
1960, 1961 and 1962 but re-released in 1977. Don’t miss this
lp, another piece of Congolese musical inheritance.
