Some more requests for juju music from Michael, this is the first
of his wishes of which I just happen to have a few. Chief Commander
Ebenezer Obey made a load of records. We had a bunch already and
still many to follow. ‘My Vision’ is from 1985 and appears on the Obey
label. If you take a look at the backsleeve, just click on it, see how many
musicians helped making this record. 20 men bands are common in juju.

Ik kreeg nog wat verzoekjes voor meer juju van Michael, dit is de eerste

It’s full of space effects and guitar tours de force, this 1983
album with Admiral Dele Abiodun. 36 years old but sounds
wonderful. On Dele Abiodun’s own label Adawa Super Records.
Number fourteen by his hand here at the Global groove, enjoy ..

van Curaçao, de Nederlandse Antillen. We hadden al een plaat
van deze Macario Prudencia en een paar met Boy Dap. Lekker
zonnige sound van eigen bodem zogezegd. Dit is Macario’s
eerste album uit 1975 ..

Not very long ago I learned about salsa antiyana, it is from
Curaçao, the Dutch Antilles. We already had one album with
this Macario Prudencia and two with Boy Dap, nice sunny sound
from our overseas islands. This is Macario’s first record from 1975 ..

I recently received a request by blogfriend Mouhamadou.

Super Etoile de Dakar. There are two in my collection I
didn’t post yet of which this one. It is volume 13, Kocc
Barma from 1987. The other one is volume 8, Immigres Bitim
Rew. Let’s listen to this one first, atmospheric sound ..

During the 1990’s they were playing together on a regular basis.
Not believing the world would be interested in their old music.
But after deciding to make an album in 2001 it turned out the
world loved it and so Bumba Massa, Loko Massengo, Syran
Mbenza, Nyboma Muan’dido and Wuta-Mayi now are
Kékélé. Some old songs, some new, a wonderful
band with a wonderful sound, listen ..

Jean Félix Pouéla “Dupool” used to be percussionist with
OK Jazz until 1978. He also used to be part of Les Bantous
de la Capitale at some point. It is hard to find useful info on
the subject. Today we find him on this album on Eddy’Son
Consortium Mondial from Paris. No year of release was found.

Jean Félix Pouéla “Dupool” was percussionist bij OK Jazz tot
1978. Hij speelde ook een rol in Les Bantous de la Capitale
op zeker moment. Het is lastig hierover relevante info te
vinden. Vandaag vinden we hem op deze plaat op het label
Eddy’Son Consortium Mondial uit Parijs. Geen jaartal bekend.

Alejandro Durán or in short Alejo Durán was one of the legendary
interpreters of vallenato. He won the first edition of the prestigious
Vallenato Legend Festival in 1968. Alejandro made quite a lot of records of
which some eleven on our page so far. The album we have today
is from 1977 and rocks like crazy, very good sound also ..

Alejandro Durán of kort gezegd Alejo Durán was een van de legen-
darische vertolkers van de vallenato. Hij won de eerste editie van het
prestigieuze Festival Vallenato in 1968. Alejandro maakte een berg
platen waarvan we er reeds zo’n elf hadden tot dusver. Het album
dat we vandaag hebben is uit 1877 en klinkt geweldig ..
