- Sunday November 3, 20130 comments on Franco et le Tout Puissant OK Jazz Mabele, Authenticité…Maturité…Jeunesse ! le cadeau d’anniversaire 18 du T.P. OK Jazz Soneca 1974
This is a re-post. It was already here at the GG as ‘African 360.056′.
Since we have so many dead links I thought it would be appropriate
to bring it again. The album was released in 1974 celebrating the
OK Jazz’ 18th birthday and becoming adult. To my opinion these
are seven of the grandmaster’s most wonderful songs, if you do
not have them yet, Get it & Spread it !
Have a nice sunday.tracks;
1 Mabele (Ntotu)
2 Kinsiona
3 Luka mobali moko
4 Monzo
5 Kinzonzi ki tata mbemba

You know you’re all such lucky bastards, this music is
almost impossible to find. The main man here is my buddy
Sanjay. He travells to Colombia and finds these killer lp’s.
Thank you again Sanjay, the album we have here is just
breathtaking. I love the stirring rhythms and wild sound
of the porros and guarachas. Sonora Curro with Crecencio
Camacho and Romansito are here with their swell
names and grooves to make you drift off, close
y’r eyes and you’re in a different world..
Get it & Spread it !I’m sorry the lp has some hisss.. and stuff…

When I first saw this album it gave me the impression it
would be Fuji or Apala, you know, this Alhaji Sir thing.
It seemed I was wrong, the lp brings highlife and even a
reggaesong. Not really a fan of african reggae but some-
how this one doesn’t disturb. The highlife feel is dominant
and the music more melodic than expected, ..nice..tracks;
1 Ivienagbo oyoyo three
2 Omo nonyanya krees imodibie
3 Amiemawamiegue : hakuri
4 Oghena kemhitse – oyoyo reggaePosted by Moosat 6:11 PMCategories

Today’s contribution concerns a recent discovery. I heard
this lp and fel in love with it straight away. The combination
of acordeon, the strong rhythms, it’s roughness is just so
sweet. Angel Vasquez’s raw voice captured me instantly.
It may sound silly but I also love the image of the frontsleeve,
the simplicity of a yellow background with picture and text,
plain, simple and uncomplicated, big letters, it’s goood.
All together, a happy post,
get it & spread it..tracks;
1 Sabalo caliente

Hello groovers, I am sorry we have such a little amount of posts
these days. Other work is consuming my time and energy but
no worries, we’re still here and although in a slow pace, also
still working on the new page. Today I want to ask your kind
attention for this swell artist. Calixto Ochoa is one of the main
composers if we speak of Colombian tropical styles such as
cumbia, porro, paseo among others. This Discos Fuentes
‘Grandes Exitos’ brings us some of his better compositions.
Enjoy Calixto Ochoa’s hot tropical sound and pass it on..P.S.
Don’t be misled by this tasteless cover,
the music is nothing like the picture..tracks;

Today I got this sad news, Thomas Frempong who sang lead
vocals for Dr. K. Gyasi and the Noble Kings Band died after being
sick in the hospital for some time. It just so happens I had this
album waiting to get posted so here it is now. Let’s play him
again and remember his great vocal skills. Rest in peace
Thomas, we’ll get out all records you sang on and listen
to them again and again..tracks;

Good morning groovers, today’s honey comes from Nigeria. Admiral
