In navolging van Worldservice, op 12 oktober j.l. was het 30 jaar
terug dat Franco overleed. Zoveel mooie platen, zoveel verhalen,
de bron is onuitputtelijk. We hadden al veel van zijn platen maar
deze dubbelaar op Edipop uit 1982 heb ik nog niet hier of bij de
diverse collega’s gezien. Ik kan je niet zoveel vertellen als Stefan,
ik heb alleen de muziek voor je. POP 021 verkeert in goede staat,
POP 022 ziet er schoon uit maar ruist helaas. Geniet eens te
meer van het werk van le Grand Maître ..

Following the post on Worldservice, on october 12th it was 30 yrs.
ago that Franco died. So many wonderful records, so many stories,
the well is inexhaustible. We had us quite some of his records al-
ready but this dubble album on Edipop from 1982 I haven’t seen
here or at the blogs of our colleagues until now. I can’t tell you
as much as Stefan can, I just have the music for you.POP 021 is
in fine condition, POP 022 looks clean but has some hiss
unfortunately. Enjoy the works of

On Disques Vogue, probably from the sixties, we find this CMDINT 9577.
It is the very last one listed at their Discogs discography without year of
release. Ry-Co comes from Rythmes Congolais and was initiated in 1958.
Based in Martinique from 1966 to about 1971. Their records are kind of
hard to come by. Radio Martiko re-released one of their albums in 2018.

Op Disques Vogue , waarschijnlijk uit de 60’s, vinden we CMDINT 9577.
Het is de allerlaatste in het rijtje van Discogs dicografie zonder jaar van
uitgave. Ry-Co komt van Rythmes Congolais en werd opgericht in 1958.
Werkend vanuit Martinique van 1966 tot zo’n beetje 1971. Hun platen
zijn tamelijk moeilijk te vinden en gaan voor flinke prijzen op het web.
Radio Martiko uit België heeft in 2018 een van
hun albums her- uit gegeven.

Hi groovers, so we had us two albums with singer Ryco from Guadeloupe.
Today we have a record with M’Bilia Casino who used to take part in Ry-Co
Jazz, something totally different. Ry-Co or Ryco Jazz a was founded in Congo
in 1858/59 by Henri Bowane. They spent four years in Martinique where their
music was very popular. After returning in Africa in 1971 the group split up.
Members like saxophone player Jean Serge Essous and others each went their
own way. M’Bilia Casino made this album in 1976. It contains styles like rumba
biguine, bolero and merengue. Enjoy listening ..

Hee groevers, we hadden dus twee platen met zanger Ryco uit Guadeloupe
gisteren en eergisteren. Vandaag een plaat met M’Bilia Casino die deel uit-
maakte van Ry-Co Jazz, iets heel anders. Ry-Co of Ryco Jazz werd opgericht
door Henri Bowane in 1958/59. Ze verbleven vier jaar in Martinique en na
terugkeer in Africa in 1971 ging de groep uit elkaar. Leden als saxofonist
Jean Serge Essous en anderen gingen ieder hun eigen weg. M’Bilia Casino
maakte dit album in 1976. Hij bevat nummers in stijlen als rumba, biguine,
bolero en merengue. Veel luister plezier weer ..

Ntesa Dalienst visits us today with this 1985 album. It opens
with the title song Iza Issa, really nice. The second song does
not please me equally much. The keys are too dominant for
me, a matter of taste. This is the first solo album we have by
Ntesa, we had records of him with Josky and with Franco and
also with José Missamou and with Mayaula Mayoni.

Ntesa Dalienst bezoekt ons vandaag met dit 1985 album. Het
opent met de titelsong Iza Issa, heel mooi. Het tweede nummer
is een stuk minder naar mijn gading, de toetsen zijn te dominant
voor mij, een kwestie van smaak. Dit is de eerste solo plaat die
we met Ntesa hebben, we hadden reeds elpees met Josky en
met Franco en ook met José Missamou en met Mayaula Mayoni.

In de categorie Congo hebben we hier een elpee met San
Martin Diafouka en Orchestre G.O. Momekano. Zowel de
platenhoes als het web weten ons geen enkele informatie
te geven over deze artiesten. Ik vind dat het album meer
verdient. Hij luistert lekker weg. Wat we wel vinden zijn
enkele namen. Naast San Martin Diafouka zien we Diaya
en Jacky, vokalen, Steph op sax, B. Bolith en Rufin, gitaren,
Jamaican, conga’s en Yemen en Bazins op trompet.
Uit 1985, op IAD/Diamasco uit Brazzaville.

Today we find, in the Congo section, this album with San
Martin Diafouka and Orchestre G.O. Momekano. Both the
record’s sleeve as the internet don’t have any information
about these artists. Personnally I think it deserves better, it’s
a solid listen tmho. We do find several names. Next to San
Martin Diafouka we see Diaya and Jacky, vocals, Steph on
sax, B. Bolith and Rufin, guitars, Jamaican, conga’s and
Yemen and Bazins on trompet. From 1985,
on IAD/Diamasco from Brazzaville.

Pablo Lubadika’s soukous was one of the first I heard back in the
early eighties. It was through the two 12 inch singles ‘Madeleina’
and ‘Bo Mbanda’.They also appeared on the albums Sound d’Afrique
I and II from 1981 and 1982. We used to play them a lot on dance
parties in those days. Today’s elpee is from 1986 and is with
Tumba Tutu de Mukose. I have a couple of other records by Pablo
Lubadika but they are on Syllart. Syllart has threatened me with
lawyers to remove all of their albums in an earlier stage so
unfortunately I can’t post them here. Shame but okay, plenty
music left to enjoy. Get this one and
spread it like you’re used to ..

Pablo Lubadika’s soukous was een van de eerste die ik hoorde
ooit in de vroege jaren 80. De twee 12 inch singles ‘Madeleina’
en ‘Bo Mbanda’ welke ook in kortere versie stonden op de albums
Sound d’Afrique I en II uit 1981 en 1982 werden in die jaren veel
door ons gedraaid op dansfeestjes. Vandaag hebben we deze plaat
uit 1986 met zanger Tumba Tutu de Mukose. Ik heb nog enkele andere
elpees met Pablo Lubadika maar die zitten op Syllart. Syllart
heeft al eerder gedreigd hun advocaten op me af te sturen
als ik hun werk niet zou verweideren dus die kan ik helaas
niet plaatsen. Jammer maar okee, genoeg andere muziek
om te genieten. Pak en deel hem weer ..
