Yesterday’s album was messed up concerning track order.
The record company mixed up sides and titles and today
we have a similar situation. Fortunately I am on top of it
this time and managed to discover things on time. Okay
let’s see this must be about the 26th record we have with
Nana Ampadu’s African Brothers Band from Ghana. Not
one bad album as I recall, I guess Ghana’s most
Ghana’s meest succelsvolle band ooit ..Check point from 19??

One of Nigeria’s most succesful highlife bands was ‘The Oriental
Brothers’. It was founded by the brothers, Kabaka, Dan Satch and
Warrior Opara early seventies. Later the brothers all took their own
course and split up in Dr. Sir Warrior & his Oriental Brothers, Godwin
Kabaka Opara’s Oriental Brothers, Oriental Brothers International
Band, led by F. Dan Satch Opara and many other variations. Today
we have an album with Kabaka International Guitar Band led by
Godwin Kabaka Opara. You may find a bunch of related albums
linked below this article. When opening the Oriental Brothers
Face Book page I found the image of the green Oriental Brothers
record which they took from my copy here at the Global groove.
Funny, and it makes one think the brothers don’t own copies of
their own records. (see sleeve damage). One way or the other,
I still think this was one of the greatest Nigerian groups all time ..Één van Nigeria’s meest succesvolle highlife bands was de Oriental
Brothers.
baka Opara’s Oriental Brothers, Oriental Brothers International Band,
led by F. Dan Satch Opara en vele andere variaties. Vandaag hebben
we een album met Kabaka International Guitar Band led by Godwin
Kabaka Opara.

opgenomen in Nigeria, EMI studio’s, Lagos. Eddie Donkor’s
highlife is zeer ritmisch en daarom zeer dansbaar ..He appeared here on one earlier occasion last year with his hit
Asiko Darling, it was on this highlife collector. This is the first
solo appearance. Eddie Donkor used to play his rhythm guitar in
Nana Ampadu’s African Brothers Band for years and eventually
tried to make it on his own. This album was recorded in the EMI
studio’s in Lagos, Nigeria. Eddie Donkor’s highlife stands out for
its highly danceable character ..tracks ;

From Benin-City in Nigeria we’ve got this highlife record
with Sir Patrick Idahosa and his African Sounds Makers.
He was here on one earlier occasion in august 2017. Not
much is written about Sir Patrick, any info on the subject
is very welcome. Get it and spread it as usual.
Shame the album has some minor jumps at
the beginning of track#3 ..Uit Benin-City in Nigeria hebben we vandaag deze highlife
plaat met Sir Patrick Idahosa and his African Sounds Makers.
Down en deel .

Searching the web on Rex Williams and his Nigerian Artistes
we find quite a lot on Etubom Rex Williams the trumpeteer.
On this album however, which is in his discography
on Discogs, there is very little trumpet. We find a man called
Ime Williams who is the vocalist, Baby Okon on saxophone and
Udo Tom Aupan on trombone. Overall the sound is carried
by a delightful guitar played by Udo Johnson. Review
Maybe Rex wasn’t in the mood to play this day ..Als we het web raadplegen om iets te vinden over Rex Williams
and his Nigerian Artistes, vinden we van alles over Etubom Rex
om te spelen.tracks ;
