highlife ? I promised more Alex Konadu so here he is.
This here lp on Brobisco is from 1981 and it’s a killer.

Two Great artists on one lp, Lisandro Meza and Alejandro
Duran appear together on this slice of tropical candy.
Backsleeve info is quite poor so I am just guessing both
musicians play with Lisandro’s Conjunto Sabanero. Track
one is written by Lisandro, track two by Alejo, track 3 by
Lisandro and so on. I’m not sure but it seems they perform
together, taking turns in singing as well. One way or the other,
the album contains a bunch of happy songs you’re going to
enjoy listening to, cumbias, porros
y vallenatos, disfruta y goza..
aprecio si deja unas

2 Fiesta en mi pueblo
3 Muchachita
4 El guayacan
5 Dos amigos

Haitian compas has a groove different from other caribbean
countries. Part from it’s French lyrics maybe there is a tiny
bit of similar flavour in the music from our Dutch Antilles.
The more I listen to compas, the more I like it, the rhythms
keep going untill you reach a certain trance, great atmosphere.
I’m sorry track # 4 & 8 have some pops halfway but overall this
lp sounds fairly good. We had two records by Les loups Noirs,
find them here and here . I guess the
reason I had problems listening to compas is shown
in track number seven, the other seven tracks are great.
..enjoy..tracks;

3 La martiniquaise
4 Donné donnant

What is it with me that I like this music so damn much ?
It seems the world is not that interested in Colombian
music but I am completely crazy about it. No problem
however, I’ll just keep posting it untill you do too, I have
a load of stuff waiting to find it’s way to you so plenty
time to get there. The strange thing is that download
numbers tell me that plenty people try it but since
nobody leaves a comment I take it they didn’t
like it enough. Today we have an album by
another hero of mine, Alfredo Gutierrez
has an impressive career, read this .
Come on now, broaden your horizon
and try something else for
a change..P.S. No problema si deja comentario

Hello, goodmorning, have you got any idea how hard it is
to find albums by this guy. Andres Landero’s lp’s are sought
after by many collectors and if you find them, you got to be
lucky to find them in good shape. This one for instance plays
quite nice but then we’ve got to take some sleeve damage
and people have been writing on the label and backsleeve.
The most important part, the music, reached us in fine
condition though. Let’s focus and listen to Andres
Landero’s super rhythms and melodies. He is
one of my all time favourite Colombian
stars, fantastic dance material…tracks;
1 Maria del Carmen
2 El hijo del pueblo
3 La tabla de multiplicar

It is a coincidence, I received a request from Tony,
asking for King Sunny Ade because today is his 67th
birthday. I checked the KSA lp’s I haven’t posted yet
but the only three left unposted are not my favourites.
When an lp has god and jesus titles I get irritated and
am unable to post. It just so happens I have this album
by Thony Adex with or about King Sunny Ade. You can
see his picture on the frontsleeve and his name is in
the titles as well. I have no idea about the link, if King
Sunny is performing here or if it’s all about him, if any
one can tell us what the link is, would be very much
appreciated. So Tony, an album by Thony Adex,
hope you enjoy it anyway..
another Thony Adex, here..oh and eh, happy birthday King Sunny !
tracks;
1 Ija sunny ati abioro
2 Mode mode nti ewe ade

led by Eddy Maxwell – Monkey Chopp
Onye Oma Cy LP IIIt is always a shame when a very good lp is played so much
that it left it’s traces. Unfortunately we do not have a lot of
choice in this matter. We are lucky as it is, finding them
old African lp’s at all so acceptance is all that’s left. This
particular album for instance has quite some hiss and
other little disturbance. If we want to hear the music
though, taking it as it is, is the only option we have.We had one of their albums before, you may find it here.
Odoyewu International Band of Ghana is one of those who
went to Nigeria to record their albums. Different circomstances,
different facilities and atmosphere had their infuence on the
sound. Very nice results came forth and this is another
fine example of such a project, listen and enjoy..tracks;

Good morning, on special request we’ve got Alex Konadu
today. So here we go Kwabena, I have a couple of others
waiting but let’s start with the oldest. This lp is from 1977
and still in very good condition, mostly Ghanaian records
of that age look and sound quite worn out but we’re lucky
I guess. We had three of his albums before, just
search on Alex and find them easily..enjoy..tracks;
1 Adamfo pa
2 Ye gu nsa
3 Agya kwakye
4 Nsa nie

Good morning groovers, do you remember our samplers?
We used to make them to suggest listening to the lp’s
the numbers come from. Every track refers to an album
posted here in the past. I stopped making them when
webhosters started to throw away our precious files but
from now they are back, you can count on that. The
numbers on this one come from lp’s posted halfway
2011 so there’s a whole lot of catching up to do.
For now, here’s volume 43, enjoy..tracks;
1 le Prince Youlou Mabiala & Kamikaze Longisa – Loufoulakari
2 The Lone Ranger – Every thing she want
3 Orchestre Masano – Mikala
4 Prince Youlou Mabiala – Carte postale

Nana Kwame Ampadu I and his African Brothers are
back at the GG today. They made a whole lot of swell
records of which we had a bunch already. Often hard
to find a year of release, with this one I’ve got no idea.
The highlife we get to hear is very groovy but the lp’s
quality is not the best I’m affraid. Quite some crackles
especially at the b-side of the album. I’m still happy
to bring it though, such lovely music..listen..tracks;
