tired of my own writing. What the f.. just listen to this
group and make up your own mind about it. If you want

Het is zo’n dag vandaag, echt zat goeie muziek om te
plaatsen hoor, dus daar ga ik dan ook vrolijk mee door.
Ik ben het alleen zat altijd dezelfde woorden te gebruiken
zonder ook maar iets zinnigs over de muziek te vertellen.
Tja Gerrit, jij zei van de week nog, je was zeker sprakeloos
van deze plaat. Nee hoor, ik ben gewoon mijn eigen schrijven
beu. Soms zeg ik liever niets dan altijd dezelfde stomme teksten
te gebruiken, mooi prachtig, geweldige plaat bla bla.. Als je na
het luisteren van de plaat meer wil weten, ga het web op,
dat is tenslotte wat ik ook altijd doe om iets te vertellen..

terug, hij maakte direkt diepe indruk op me. Het werd dan ook
tijd dat ik hem aanbood en vandaag is het zover. Luister zelf op
deze zondagmiddag, lekker wegdromen met een regenbuitje
op de achtergrond..

Hello groovers, today we’ve got us another sweet mellow album
with Jean Gesner Henry or Coupé Cloué. A name he got as a
soccerplayer in his early days. This one is from 1974 and was
recorded with his Trio Select, it is their fourth record. Coupé
Cloué made a bunch of records, we’ll be back with more..

Alweer zo’n lekker mellow twoubadou plaatje met Coupé Cloué.
Deze stamt uit 1974 en werd opgenomen met zijn Trio Select.
Zeer bekende Haïtiaanse grappenmaker en gitarist, vroeger
voetballer. Maakte vele albums waarvan dit nummer vier is.
Wordt zeker nog vervolgd, stay tuned voor meer..

We had three of his albums so far, one on which we find two
numbers we also find on this one. No worries however, 7 other
songs make this record worth its while. He sounds like his fake
teeth do not fit well but somehow he manages to steel my heart.
Love the voice, love the instruments, simply irresistible..

We hadden reeds drie van z’n plaatjes, op één daarvan staan twee
liedjes die ook op deze voorkomen. de andere zeven nummers zijn
verschillend, dus zeker niet getreurd. Integendeel, ondanks dat het
lijkt of zijn kunstgebitje niet goed past steelt de man telkens weer
mijn hart. lekkere stem, lekkere instrumentjes, onweerstaanbaar..

In februari 2010 hadden we Les Loups Noirs a New York, vandaag
de opvolger. Voorkant noemt hem ‘Pingouin’, achterkant ‘Adieu a
New York’. Wederom prettig soundje voor een warme zomerdag.
Ik zeg pak hem en geef hem weer door aan je matties..

its follower. Frontsleeve calls it ‘Pingouin’, backside speaks of ‘Adieu
a new York’. Another nice piece of compas to enrich a warm summer-
day. I’d say get it and spread it as you’re used to..

Hier hebben we nog zo’n relaxte plaat met Gesner Henry
en zijn Trio Select. Het doet je reeds verlangen naar zwoele
zomeravonden maar daar moeten we nog even op wachten.
Een voorschotje dan maar vast, kachel hoog, luister zelf..

Today another mellow disc with Gesner Henry and his Trio
Select. It makes one long for them hot summer nights but
we”l have to be patient for those. Just listen imagining

Hoe meer ik er naar luister, hoe fijner ik het vind, compas uit Haïti.
Op Macaya heben we hier Les Banges met een elpee uit 1973. Toch
al een van die jaren waarin de allermooiste muziek is verschenen,
en dan komt deze er ook nog bij, ik word er blij van..

The more I listen to it, the more I like it, compas from Haïti. On
Macaya we find Les Banges with this 1973 album. Already one of
those years that brought us the most wonderful records, and now
we can add this one to them, it makes me happy..

Goeiemiddag, voor vele van u staat de vakantietijd weer voor de deur.

Uit 1982 zijn dit Les As de Pétion-Ville, compas uit Haïti toen
de boel er nog wat zonniger bijlag. We vinden op gitaar de
virtuose Robert Martino welke we reeds eerder hoorden
op de platen van Tuco en die van Les Gypsies de Pétion-Ville.
Andere grote namen zijn natuurlijk Fred en André Dejean
van Les Frères Dejean. Instrumentale hoogstandjes door
deze superband, luister zelf..

From 1982 these are Les As de Pétion-Ville, compas from Haïti
when the island was a bit happier than today. On guitar we find
the vituoso Robert Martino who we heard on earlier occasions
with Tuco and with Les Gypsies de Pétion-Ville. Other big names
are of course Fred and André Dejean of Les Frères Dejean. Listen
to the instrumental tours de force by this great band..

We hadden er al een stuk of vijf en er wachten er nog een zwikkie.
Les Shleu-Shleu is een Haïtiaanse groep heerlijke instrumentalisten
die keer op keer weet te verrassen. Van begin tot eind lekkere
deuntjes die je zeker niet wilt missen, luister maar..

I guess we had us about five of their albums so far and we’ve got
another bunch waiting to find their way to you. Les Shleu-Shleu is a
group of wonderful instrumentalists who succeed in surprising us
again and again. From beginning to end sweet tunes you
would not want to miss, listen quickly..
