Op de laatste beurs in Utrecht bracht platenvriend Aiden uit
Frankrijk deze elpee mee. Hij was begin van het jaar in Congo
en vond daar weer diverse zeldzame platen. Op Google was over
deze jongens geen woord te vinden. Dit is het soort bands waar
we naar op zoek zijn, totaal onbekend maar al luisterend denk
je, waarom ? Als iemand er meer over weet, heel graag.. Alleen

At the latest record fair in Utrecht, music friend Aiden from
France brought us this album. He travelled to Congo earlier this
year and found a bunch of rare records. On Google there wasn’t
a word about these guys. It is this type of groups we are looking
for, totally unknown but listening to them one thinks why ?

In a reaction on the previous post, Mouhamadou asked
me if I have this LP with Les Redoutables and Pamelo
Mounk’a. It is supposedly the last album that Docteur
Nico did before his passing. I find no mentioning him
on the sleeve of the LP.. Anyone to shine a light on this
matter .. ?

In een reactie op de vorige post vroeg Mouhamadou me
of ik deze plaat met Les Redoutables en Pamelo Mounk’a
toevallig had. Het zou de laatste plaat moeten zijn waarop
Docteur Nico speelde voordat hij overleed. Ik vond op de
hoes niets wat erop wijst dat hij meespeelt. iemand die
hier iets over zeggen kan.. ?

Docteur Nico staat altijd garant voor instrumentale hoogstandjes.
Ook op deze elpee met Les Redoutables stelt hij ons niet teleur.
Uit 1985 en opgenomen in de verenigde staten..

le Prince Youlou Mabiala, Franco’s son in law, is such an artist.
Reason the more to be very happy to have found yet another
of his records. The web does not give me a year of release on
this one, if you know, please let us know too. Untill then,

Van sommige artiesten willen we gewoon elk album ooit uitgebracht
zien te vinden. le Prince Youlou Mabiala, Franco’s schoonzoon, is zo’n
artiest. Reden te meer om verheugd te zijn dat we er weer eentje
gevonden hebben. Het web geeft me helaas geen antwoord op de vraag
uit welk jaar deze stamt. Als jij het weet, vertel je het ons dan s.v.p. ook ?
Tot die tijd zeg ik, draai en beluister hem en geef weer door..

The Officers of African music is a hot group of Congolese artists
working from Paris during the eighties. Commandant Tchico with
his crew guarantees a dancing sound like no other. Once you are
moving there is no stopping anymore, so kick aside furniture
and let yourself go. With Passi-Jo, Denis La Cloche,
Ballou Canta and others..

De Officiers van Afrikaanse muziek noemen ze zich. Deze groep
Congolese artiesten die mid tachtiger jaren vanuit Parijs werkte.
Onder leiding van Commandant Tchico garandeert deze band een
dans sound als geen ander. Als je een maal in beweging bent
gekomen is er geen stoppen meer aan. Schop je meubels opzij en
laat je gaan. Met Passi-Jo, Denis La Cloche,
Ballou Canta en anderen..

One of Congos best guitarists of all time is Lokassa ya M’bongo.
This is his Best of.. album from 1983. Asi Kapela does vocals
like on other albums, Ringo Moya on drums..enjoy.
btw, Lokassa called this album ‘M’ , all titles start with M..

Een van Congo’s beste gitaristen is zonder twijfel Lokassa ya
M’Bongo. Vandaag hebben we zijn ‘Best of..’ album. Asi Kapela
doet de vokalen, Ringo Moya op drums..veel luisterplezier.
nota bene, Lokassa noemt dit album ‘M’ alle titels beginnen
met een M..

Op Afric’music vonden we deze plaat met Les Tontons.
Enkele bekende namen zoals Domingo Salsero en Master
Mwana Congo maken deel uit van de formatie. Ergens uit
de jaren tachtig, een precies jaar is niet voor handen.
Prima kwaliteit vinyl..

On Afric’music we find this album with Les Tontons. Some
well known musicians here, Domingo Salsero and Master
Mwana Congo for instance. It is from the eighties, no excact
year is available. very good quality record..
