More than 11 years after the first half of the double album
we finally have the second half. There was some discussion
in those days whether the record stood on its own or belongs
to a double release. I’m glad we can put the two together at
last. Mostly double albums come in double sleeves, this one
exists from two separate elpees. I just found this one when
visiting the city of Groningen last week. A happy moment
when stumbling on a missing link. Enjoy listening ..

Meer dan 11 jaar na de eerste helft van het dubbel album
hebben we dan eindelijk de tweede helft. Er was in die dagen
wat discussie of de plaat op zichzelf stond of tot een dubbelaar
behoorde. Ik ben blij dat de twee eindelijk samen komen. Veelal
hebben dubbel albums ook een dubbelhoes, in dit geval bestaat
hij dus uit twee losse platen. Ik vond deze vorige week toen ik
een bezoek bracht aan Groningen. Altijd een mooi moment op
een missende schakel te stuiten. Luister met plezier ..

Een juweeltje vandaag met André Kinzonzi alias Du Soleil
Krunganga. Hij was jaren de bassist van Super Boboto de
Brazzaville. Hij is de broer van Daniel Loubelo, Delalune,
één van de grondleggers van OK Jazz en mede oprichter
van Orchestre Bantous de la Capitale. Op deze elpee met
zijn composities vinden we zangers, Théo Blaise, Passy Jo,
Ballou Canta en Tchico Tchicaya. Verder Master Mwana, Ti
Jean, Denis Hekiman, Fredo en Jimmy. Luister zelf ..

He used to play the bass with Super Boboto de Brazzaville
for years. André is the brother of Daniel Loubelo, Delalune,

Capitale. On this album with five of his compositions we find

Almost 12 years ago I posted this album with some of the
finest Congolese bands from the seventies. The version we
had was of poor sound quality. I promised in more than
one case to repost when I find a better one. This one was
waiting on the shelf for a long time to replace the former
and far worse copy. Another piece of gold on ‘african’
and one of my absolute favourites ..

Het is bijna 12 jaar geleden dat ik deze plaat postte. Een
album met enkele van de beste bands uit Congo’s 70’s.
Het exemplaar van toen klonk niet zo geweldig en zoals
al vaker beloofd, zou ik hem vervangen als ik een betere
vond. Deze stond al geruime tijd met dat doel op de plank.
Nog zo’n gouwe ouwe op het ‘african’ label
en één van mijn absolute favorieten ..

Lately we’ve seen various records with Tabu Ley Rochereau.
Some live, some studio, one way or the other, Rochereau’s
music and sublime singing always find a happy listening
ear. The double album we have for you today is a splendid
one. The greatest singers and instrumentalists were brought
together for this 1980 recording. It sounds like it’s
been made yesterday. Enjoy listening ..

We hadden de laatste weken verschillende platen met Tabu
Ley Rochereau. Sommige live, sommige uit de studio. Hoe
dan ook, Rochereau’s muziek en mooie stemgeluid vinden
altijd blije luisteraars. Het dubbel album dat we vandaag
voor je hebben is een zeer goede. De beste zangers en
instrumentalisten zijn bijeen gebracht voor deze
1980 opnamen. Het klinkt alsof ze gisteren
zijn opgenomen ..

left unposted. Le Seigneur Rochereau à l’Olympia vol. 1 was
posted on october 4, 2011. Today we finally have volume two.
Once again it concerns a fake live album, the live sounds
are mixed in afterwards. Still, a document not to be
missed. It contains the wonderful ‘Mokolo Nakokufa’.

Nog zo’n plaat uit de ‘african 360.000’ serie die op de plank
was achtergebleven. Le Seigneur Rochereau à l’Olympia vol. 1
hadden we reeds op 4 oktober, 2011. Vandaag dan eindelijk
volume twee. Eens temeer betreft het hier een nep-live lp,
de live geluiden zijn er achteraf tussen gemixed. Evengoed,
een album om erbij te hebben als je je ‘african’ collectie
wilt completeren. Het bevat het mooie ‘Mokolo Nakokufa’.

Going through my collection of the ‘african 360.000’ series
I just found out I never posted number 360.078, Authenticité
Vol. 4 by Orchestre OK Jazz. High time to catch up in short.
The album contains 10 songs from 1962 and 1963 if I’m not
mistaking. Released in 1975 on the ‘african’ label. These
songs are pure delight and not to be missed ..

Toen ik vanmorgen nog eens door m’n collectie van de ‘african
360.000’ serie ging ontdekte ik dat nummer 360.078, Authenticité
vol. 4 van Orchestre OK jazz de site nog niet bereikt had. Hoog tijd
dus om dit eens recht te zetten. De plaat bevat 10 nummers uit
1062 en 1963 als ik me niet vergis. Uitgebracht in 1975 op het
‘african’ label. Deze songs zijn prachtig en niet te missen ..

He was one of the most important and influential Congolese
composers, singer and bandleader. Pascal-Emmanuel Sinamoyi
Tabu, better known as Tabu Ley Rochereau, passed by here on
more than one occasion. Today we find this 1984 album which
was recorded in America, USA and Canada.

Hij was een van de belangrijkste en invloedrijke Congolese

dan eens langs. Vandaag vinden we dit album uit 1984 welke
in Amerika en Canada werd opgenomen. Altijd
