onnodig auto ongeluk was Bembeya Jazz aanvankelijk verlamd.
de Bembeya’ en beslis zelf of het waar is..After the tragic death of Aboubacar Demba Camara in an
unnecessary carcrash Bembeya Jazz was initially parralised.
This lp however marks the strong comeback of the group.
With Moussa Touré as the new lead singer, Mory Koyate I,
Mory Kouyate II en M’Bady Soumah they left behind the
worst period and revived in wonderful sound again.

We kennen allemaal Balla et ses Balladins.
opereerde. Mandingo muziek uit 1972, niet te missen..We all know Balla et ses Balladins, read in the coming lines why the
group temporarily played under another name. Not to miss mandingo.Much of ses & les Balladins’ success lies in the instrumentation: both
leaders, Balla & Pivi are horn players rather than guitarists or singers.
They were both serious musicologists, deeply into folkloric research.
In 1970, government interference with the bands personnel forced the
transfer of several band members to be part of Miriam Makeba’s
back-up band while she was living in Guinea. A new singer was
assigned to the band. Balla had a falling-out with some government
officials over their interference. He was briefly replaced as leader by
his friend & trombone player Pivi Moriba, to be restored following
the intervention of President Ahned Sékou Touré himself.titels ;

Jaartal is ook verschillend, label 1974, hoes 1975..On editions Syliphone Conakry we find this nice slice of
rumba-guinée. Balla et ses Balladins is an artist who pleases
lots of listeners for many years. Use our search-bar to find more
by this group. This album is from 1974 and sounds a little dusty
I’m afraid. Still wonderful to listen though. The trackorder on the
sleeve is not the same as on the label, I followed the latter.
Year of release also, label 1974, sleeve 1975..titels ;

We had some five of their albums so far here at the GG.
From different periods and in different line-ups. The one
we have here today is from 1977 and presents Salif Keita
and Ousmane Dia as lead singers. I must say it does have
some snap, crackle and pops but that can’t spoil the
nice atmosphere. I hope to find a better copy some
day but for now..enjoy this Malinese oldie..titels ;

Luister zelf..Another great voice from the jelimusolu from Mali is her’s.
Oumou kouyate appears here first time with five tracks.
Lassissi and Sacodis arranged this recording, the year of
release is not quite clear. The lp opens with a killer track
which pulled me over the line of posting this album.titels ;
