Again we have an album by Bozi Boziana & Anti Choc and
again we don’t find any relevant info at the sleeve. No year
of release, no album title to search for and on the world wide
web I can’t seem to find anything as well. One way or the other,
we do have the music to listen to which is the most important part.

Heden nogmaals een plaatje met Bozi Boziana en Anti Choc. Tevens
nogmaals een hoes die geen snars aan info biedt, geen titel om naar
te zoeken, geen jaar van uitgave en op het web kan ik ook al niets
vinden. Dat maakt echter allemaal niet uit want wat we wel hebben
is het aller belangrijkste, namelijk de muziek om naar te luisteren..

most popular groups of the eighties with Bozi-Boziana and

album did not provide a whole lot of information, to learn

Voor de liefhebbers van een stevig stukje soukous hebben we
vandaag deze schijf met Bozi-Boziana en zijn groep Anti-Choc.
Ook Jolie Detta is van de partij. De hoes van de plaat geeft verder

This is the second album we found by Franklin Boukaka, the
previous one was posted in march 2012. You don’t see them
very often so I suggest you don’t let it slip through your fingers.
On the Pathé Marconi label so quality is certain. Boukaka was
born on october 10, 1940 and assassinated february 22, 1972
only 32 years of age. He was singer, guitarist and songwriter..

In maart 2012 hadden we één van zijn platen en dit is dus de
tweede die we van zijn hand vinden. Vaak kom je ze niet tegen
daarom zou ik willen zeggen, laat hem niet glippen. Op het label
van Pathé Marconi dus kwaliteit verzekerd. Boukaka, geboren
op 10 oktober 1940 werd vermoord op 22 februari 1972, slechts
32 jaar oud. Hij was zanger, gitarist en songwriter..

Henri Bowane was a crucial figure in the developement of Congo rumba
in Kinshasa ( then Leopoldville ) during the early 1950s. He was the first
professional boss and mentor of the legendary Franco, and was a big star
in his own right, releasing dozens of hit 78rpms. In 1960, Bowane became
founder/manager of Ry-Co Jazz, who introduced Congo rumba to countries
such as Sierra Leone, Senegal, Togo, Ghana and the French Antilles. By the
1970s he had settled in West Africa where he recorded this, his first and
only album. The rhythms range from rumba and cavacha through highlife
to calypso and soul/blues. Get it and spread it.. ( liner notes )

Hij werd eind jaren 40 door Henri Bowane geïntroduceerd bij Ngoma
label en werd daar direkt een ster. De plaat die we hier hebben werd
gemaakt in samenwerking met Bavouéza Guinot en de Kongo Retro

One of the most famous Congolese rumba bands in the early sixties was
Les Bantous de la Capitale. Founded by former musicians of Orchestre
T.P.O.K. Jazz and Orchestre Rock a Mambo. Members were Alphonse
Ntaloulou, Celestin N’Kouka, De La Lune, Dicky Baroza, Domingo Louya,
Ganga Edo, Jean Serge Essous, José Missamou, Kabako Lambert, Kosmos
Moutouari, Laurent Kabako, Malonga Rikky, Malonga Samuel, Michel Boyibanda,
Mujos, Nino Dieudonne Malapet, Pamelo Mounk’a, Papa Noel, Passy Mermans,
Pouela Dupool, Rikky Siméon, Samba Mascott, Saturnin Pandi.
This slice of 1976 vinyl contains two tracks we’ve seen passing by in
previous posts but is overall new at this page. Fabulous release on the
marvelous Pathé Marconi / EMI label, better don’t miss..

Les Bantous de la capitale was een van de bekendste Congolese rumba bands
in de sixties. Opgericht door voormalige leden van Orchestre T.P.O.K. Jazz en
Orchestre Rock a mambo. Leden waren o.a. Alphonse Ntaloulou, Celestin N’Kouka,

it took a while but I think we finally have Zaïre Promotion vol. 1 today.
Kiland and Orchestre Mabatalai bring us this delightful album, I really
enjoy listening and hope you will as well, get it and spread it..
By the way, track two on both sides is with Orchestre Mokito.

We hadden reeds drie platen van deze man, Kiland en zijn Orchestre
Mabatalai twee maal, en met Orchestre Mokito één maal. Het heeft
even geduurd om dit eerste volume te vinden maar op de laatste
beurs in Utrecht was het dan toch eindelijk zover. Altijd een heerlijk
moment om tegen zo’n juweeltje aan te lopen, luister maar snel..
Het tweede nummer op beide zijden is overigens met Orch. Mokito.

Tamelijk obscure release op het label van Don Dass.
In 1985 bij elkaar gezocht talent uit verschillende bands.
Met die heerlijke vibrerende stem van Dindo Yogo, zeer
de moeite van het beluisteren waard..
